Mainly JK as I live near-ish to him. Seen him a few times in the SLS. Also saw him in a BMW E28 in a car park. I was admiring it and he walked out, said a few things about it and drove off.

I've seen comedian Phil Kay around the streets of Glasgow (albeit a few years back) in a Reliant Scimitar - bit of a leftfield choice smile

I once saw the aftermath of a car James Martin was driving:

Whats the story behind this... clearly not a racing car... just being a tit?
Being a tit I assume. He had the car as part of a test drive for his Daily Soovy column and binned it on a fast stretch of road just outside Melton Mowbray. I'm not sure if Subaru UK would have been impressed as it was their car.

I started a thread on it entitled: "When the Subaglue runs out."

The only famous person I've seen driving was one of the Hairy Bikers, he was driving a Range Rover round the industrial estate in Penrith. I think he may have been lost.

Had one. It's now in the US.

Believe Wyclef Jean owned it after him.

A few:

Mark Speight (remember him?) drove past the schoolboy me as I was walking home. He had a grey 911 and some kind of hands free car phone kit. I was more impressed by that.

David Coulthard in a Mercedes SL or SLR, can't recall which but silver. Registered as DC99 or similar.

Jeremy Spake! From Airport! In a helicopter of some description.

The Alan Sugar Rolls Royce. No idea if he was inside as the back windows are virtually opaque.

Eammon Holmes, off daytime telly that I don't watch. He has a Range Rover with a godawful number plate "E4MUN". I pointed and laughed at it and was told who the owner was by a friend.

Louise Goodman, formerly of F1 fame, in a Ginetta racing car. Though that was an organised event so doesn't really count.

Finally, to trump almost everything else, my mother saw Nelson Mandela being chauffeured in a large saloon. I was sceptical until the local paper reported that he was attending an awards ceremony at the University of Essex.

All of the above, other than Louise Goodman, were in and around Colchester. You've been looking in the wrong places.

My wife worked for Blackburn Rovers and her Mother worked for Man Utd. I'm not into football at all so wouldn't know them from Adam, so no idea of who I saw when I've been to both places. But plenty of flash stuff.

Have met Souness, Hughes and Allerdyce at staff do's and many players. My wife and son has met Fergie when with her mum.
CARS!! Can't you read?

Once saw Princess Anne driving a Range Rover southbound on the A1, no other cars for miles around so I assume without police company. I was 13, I waved, she waved back as we overtook her.

Saw Jeremy Clarkson driving a red Lamborghini Countach in one of the car parks at Snetterton race track. He came out a little while later (I'm guessing a press jolly was happening) started up the car, and did the 'sitting on the sill with the door open to reverse' trick. Unfortunately, he also stalled it, much to the amusement of the few people standing round. Still made a nice noise when driving away though.

Think I saw a Newcastle footballer as well, number plate was G1VEN or G11VEN or something, on a Bentley GT (I think). My mate knew who he was. I had no clue.

I'm sure he's got a few quid tucked away. His house is quite valuable I would imagine!

You can't spend a house though can you?

He clearly cares about cars judging by the Bentleys and Ferraris mentioned with MAG1C on it, now he's got it on that thing.

Oh well.

I do remember him talking about how years ago he had a Maserati with adjustable suspension. When pulled over by plod following reports of a speeding sports car he was playing with the suspension toggle whilst talking to the copper.

"What's your car doing?"

"It's panting."
