Very nice car and good video, with some tidy driving, BUT is that extra 200cc of displacement and the sound it delivers worth the additional money over a GT3 RS or indeed the GT3 with the fancy (unpronouncable exhaust) that monkey had before?????

He traded up from a modified GT3 to something fractionally faster but hugely more expensive - the additional cost of a used 430 over what he got for trade in on his GT3.

In my opinion, the GT3 serves the daily and occasional need better than this UNLESS you live on / next to a race track.

Plus, the concern of putting on even approaching "average" mileage must play havoc with buy back / resale value on a car that will (ultimately) become a collectors show piece - unfortunately!

I suppose supercar ownership will never have a logical answer. I like the car, a lot, NA and manual tranny last of a kind, but £40k for +200cc and some aural excitement ?????????

Top guy for buying this car and actually driving it, and another thumbs up for leaving it in a Porsche showroom for others to see and dream of!
Hope to see it in the showroom on Friday when mine (sadly not a GT3 RS 4.0) goes in for some work.

biggrin You're car is wonderful Chris and I love the video, it's nice to have something nice on PH other than the endless grammar whining and picking apart stories biggrin

Excellent video! Thanks for sharing! biggrin

And top marks for letting others enjoy it (albeit while stationary) while it's all warm for the winter!

Nice video indeed Chris.

As mentioned above, it would be churlish not to sell it for the huge premiums being asked.

What to follow it up with though confused

Well me and Doris thoroughly enjoyed that Chris, thank you, you've really captured the essence of a 'true' PH'er...... keep 'em like that and I reckon you could seriously think about doing this for a living mate wink

I would say a nice return for £1200 a month. Beats my 2.5% from my bank and you get to drive it then buy a 997.1 gt3 cash with the profit.

Hope it,s at Febs Sunday service at Silverstone.

Enjoy this while you can. I enjoyed Clarkson when he wrote the back page of Performance Car. Mr Harris will be on mainstream tv doing this soon and rightly so. Well done sausage, good effort!

Great Video and a good explanation of what happens when a car gets under your skin

If that's the std that CH brings to PH - then long may his input continue

Superb biggrin

I'm not a drift-y person, but with that power on wet roads it looks difficult to do anything else! If you want to see what fun they had filming it, look at the number of tyre marks on the road before the car has gone round.

With a little Photoshopping it could look like an edition of Fast Lane magazine from the 80s (that's a good thing). Which reminds me - if the photographer is reading - what was it filmed on? It looked good enough to be something like an EOS5DII with L glass, which leads me to hope that there might be some ultra high pixel count stills out there.

Doris (she's the book-keeper btw wink) reckons the suggested profit to be made on resale value after one year, reasonable mileage - say 5k, should more than compensate for the interest paid on the balloon - which must be at least @£40k by my reckoning - good call Chris, says Doris wink

Excellent. The sound of that engine going through the rev range up that hill is just fantastic.

after spending an inordinate amount of money on a lovely car, does Chris only have money for one jumper?
