Thats why i posted the roll eyes smilie.

It just smacked of a poster who had no experience spouting internet scare stories.

I know that Porsche engines have issues and I have planned for that with a comprehensive warranty from a respected independent dealer..... so there! hehe

Don't be put off. As always, you only ever hear about the ones that go wrong, and never from the thousands of owners that never see a problem.

My 986 Boxster S suffered from the intermediate shaft failure and Porsche installed a new engine under warranty. Clearly it is an issue that affects some cars, but given the 10s of thousands of cars out there that essentially share similar engines (i.e. Boxsters, Caymans and 911s) I think it's statistically unlikely. However, it is true that you should always plan for the worst.

Congrats OP...hope you enjoy your lovely new wheels. Not Jealous At All!! ;-)
