Its not about power anyway. Its driveability and competitions.
Oh yes and "magic numbers" like they are just random numbers plucked from mid air for every car.

A 1.4 fiesta is so much more "driveable" and "competetive" than an actual hot hatch. rofl
whilst he is ever so slightly deluded.. He does actually have a very valid point about drivability or 'feel' smile

In what way? Yes you can drive it easier at the limit everywhere as its easier to extract full performance, but what makes it better than a 2.0 version?

I've always thought the fiesta st was a bit of a disappointment

imo it needed another 30-50bhp as standard..

So by that rationale the weaker the car the better? Well if thats the definition of driveable then i much prefer a totally undriveable car. wink

I find a car with more power much more driveable, easier to overtake and if i want to drive at the speed of a 1.4 fiesta i can just use less throttle.

I had the 1.4 tdci Fiesta and have to say I blew Focus ST's, Astra VXR's and Type R's out the water...in fuel economy.
I think the answer for this has to be Clio 172/182. I wish I would have got one instead of my Mondeo ST TDCi frown

The Octavia is a hatch - just looks like its not (unless the newest model is different?).
