now your talking, a 959 drop hood, I'm not a cabrio or Targa fan but that looks so right to me!

I absolutely adore 911 Speedsters. Something very, very right about the shape to me. Hood up or down they look wonderful.

I'll take a 911 Speedster and a 959 Speedster please. But not a 356 Speedster - prefer those with a metal roof.

Values seem to be going only one way.
I was bid 60k on my car about a year ago by a dealer. A friend who has one was offered 90k, again by a dealer just a few months ago.

A red car sold very quickly after being advertised at 75k (IIRC) in the PCGB magazine about four months back.

It's weird that for many years they were stuck at circa 30k and suddenly seem to have gone mad.

I know the owner of the blue car and its a good one, so someone get it bought!

I get the idea, but I just think it's got a fat arse and the lines have been ruined. The simple lines of a classic 3.2 are just unbeatable IMHO.
Well said, my thoughts exactly (although I'd happily include a 993 in there)
Yeah, affirmative! Gutted I'm without my 993. To be rectified in the near future...

I have never understood the money these fetch. They're rare, sure, but are they 60 grand better than a cabrio? 75k could get you a decent 964 rs, which must be a better investment. A 50s speedster can be had for a hundred or so. I can't imagine doc Hollywood driving a 3.2 speedster!

If you're after a rare and interesting Porsche I reckon this car ticks all the boxes....must be the wrong price though as it's been for sale for bloody ages!

Personally I think the 993 C2S/C4S is the best looking car Porsche has ever made and that one comes with a factory fitted from new RS engine! Apparently one of two ever made. I reckon a standard 4s with that mileage/condition is easily worth £40k and would probably cost £50k plus from a specialist....so maybe at a £20k odd premium it's not such a bad buy ? Although of course you could buy a 964 RS or maybe even a 993 RS for that sort of money ? Not sure what a 993 RS goes for though...
RS engine and 3.6? Its not rare (other than being an S) and it's not interesting. So you are right, it's just wrong and overpriced.

So many other cheaper Porsches are better and make a more rational purchase. Doesn't stop me wanting this - badly, but for this sort of money it would have to be the CS.

i have a guards red with black narrow body RHD speedster, I'm lucky to have the choice between this and a 96RS and honestly 80% of the time nicer to drive on UK roads.

no offence to happy owners, but speedsters look plain weird to me, ruins the 911 lines

Well I love the speedster. I remember seeing one when I was a young lad in the 80's, it was in parked in London and it looked the dogs bks. The stockbroker who undoubtedly owned it had spotted braces and a filofax for sure. So they are not very practical (the soft top leaks) and they are more expensive than a normal 911. And are dangerous (imagine rolling one).

But to me they are so right.

And to I have my own 911 (see attached), when I grow up I want a speedster!

If it's an investment / collector car, then fine, I'm not really sure what it's worth. But based on waht it is as a car, I'd have to have a hangar full of other toys before deciding that this was £75k worth.
