You're right; you shouldn't say 'gifts' as gift is a noun and not a verb!

Please avoid the horrible Americanisms! rage

Does this mean a Ferrari badged 4x4 is on the horizon? Remember when Porsche did the same thing?

The bods a Ferrari must be kicking themselves that they didn't think of it first.

So what do they do, 10 years too late? They LOWER a 4x4 and paint it red! Bonkers doesn't begin to describe it.

Why is it any more ludicrous than a combination of letters? To most people an F150 is synonymous with Ford.
Ah sorry I mean ludicrous as in the F150 is synonymous with Ford's truck and therefore to claim that Ferrari can't use the name as it's still in the auto-mobile vicinity was a bit daft from Ford IMO.
Well the Porsche 911 would have been a 901 had Peugeot not copyrighted all 3 letter combinations with a 0 in the middle so blame the French, they started it. wink

These are brilliant cars. I moved to Dubai a year ago and purely by chance I had a test drive in a Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.7litre HEMI engine, Dual Manual/Auto transmission and every time I drive it brings a big smile to my face. It is in Natural Green with light cream leather and all my pals here cannot believe its performance and bang for buck. It cost the equivalent of GBP28,000 and is better equipped and quicker than German, Jap and British competition with a superb comfortable drive. The SRT8'S are even faster, sports suspension and more power. Why are so many people passing judgement on a car they have never driven. It is quite amazing the amount of armchair experts and critics that exist back in the UK who feel it is their right to pass judgement on cars they know nothing about. I used to have a Chimaera 500 which I spent moderate amounts on to keep it reliable and in good condition. Never had a problem with it over 30000 miles and 7 years of ownership but the first question that often came up in social situations or a garage forecourt was "Aargh I bet that costs a bomb to run" and "Yeah, but its a plastic car that will always let you down". Completer nonsense which I loved to throw back at them. The look on their faces when I said it was absolutely brilliant and never let me down once was worth its weight in gold. By the way the Jeep has been ultra reliable and I have taken it off into tough desert dunes quite a lot. When you have had "real-time experience over a reasonable period" I will be happy to listen to these critics in the meantime ...GET A LIFE !!
Can't disagree with that sentiment! It's a bit like Alfas - my old 1999 156 is still going strong despite my father in law's best efforts to wreck it in his 8 years of neglected ownership!

Maybe I'm not explaining myself too well. I'm not debating the fact that Ford have a vehicle called the F150 or their naming convention, I just think it's a little unfair that they wouldn't let Ferrari use the F150 moniker for their F1 car in their anniversary year - I mean it's unlikely that anyone's going to confuse the 2 vehicles any time soon.

Let me release a blender named 458 or the Testarossa and we can wait and watch how many minutes it takes for Ferrari to send me a cease and desist letter for copyright infringement.

Have driven one of the last generation and it was a blast. Look forward to the chance to drive one of these. With the exception of the ferrari "touches" it looks great.
+1. Absolute hoot to drive! I've seen a couple of the new shape ones around but they're pretty hard to spot. They don't really stand out all that much from a well specced lesser model which is a bit of a shame imo.

I understand that but no-one was going to confuse the Peugeots with a Porsche either and, as someone pointed out, if Ford were to call their new baby pickup (if they ever made one) the F40, Ferrari would be all over them like the rash they would have had but for being treated by the finest Italian doctors. Besides, off-road, the F150 Raptor is faster than any Ferrari... wink

I find all the sarcasm about American cars just boring. I have a jeep, my second one. I like them, the first was a 1989 Cherokee, I put 252k on it and the only things I had to replace was the fuel pump and the rear crank bearing. Of course the usual maintenance. I drove an SRT8 and it's my next Jeep. Like I say, I like them. You won't believe it until you actually drive one.
