Its not really wasting your time though. 1 or 20 watchers will not extend the time the auction runs. Posting on PH now that might waste some time I can tell you.

Most of the people dicking around on here are probably doing it in work time... Ironic really....

Good luck with the sale and the job hunting

During the war Pistonheads was a nice place full of like minded people....

Now it appears the chavs, idiots and gangster teenagers have moved in, a bit like England on mass!

Best of luck, stick it back on, but keep the warning on there, I always got tossed about on ebay selling cars. How about a trip to a local back street garage or two, if youre honest and know what the car is worth give them a shot.

No doubt the hoodies will be back in a moment, it's getting cold in the bus shelter smile

So you take everything written in an advert as gospel then?
No, I'm a bitter, twisted, nasty, cynical know-it-all who doesn't believe a word anyone says.
If you're having a stty day don't go trying to take it out on me by acusing me of being something I'm not. I didn't watch the item just commented that he may be telling a porkie or two as it's not unheard of on ebay etc. I took the approach of quickly perusing his feedback which pointed out the car was purchased on ebay July last year and he's bought some items for it that would rule it out for me to buy.

Hello everyone i am the owner of this famous astra, i would like to say i put the last sentence on my listing as i am sick of been messed about from timewasters, it costs £18.49 to advertise on ebay with a reserve. I arent out to con anyone, ive recently been laid off from work and cant afford my insurance monthly payments now on job seekers allowance...thats why im in need of a cheaper car.

I think this thread is deeply unfair and was unaware of it until user cragswinter notified me of it via ebay mail. All im trying to do is sell my car...whats the crime in that? im sure if any of you taking the piss where in my shoes, you wouldnt like the situation you would be in.

Thank you to the people who are been reasonable on this thread, means alot!
Can I ask, what do a bunch of watchers do to waste your time, they take no effort on your part to be there, and require no interaction at any point.

However what a statement like that does is antagonise people into doing things like this thread.

For the record I've been where you are and now I've not even got a snotter to sell to get a few hundred quid so I am not completely ignorant to how you must be feeling.

I also know that you catch more flies with honey than vinegar so all I'd have said was "please don't bid unless you intend to buy" I wouldnt have tried to tell people how to use their ebay account, after all I want one of them to give me money!

I'd also scrap the part about losing your job, all that does is attract the s who want to kick a man when he's down, sad but true! If you don't seem like you need the sale you'll have no problems!

Good luck.

Hi wolf1, the SRI i bought last year was to break for spares as it had the irmscher kit on which i wanted for my 04 astra sxi at the time, the astra i have now is not the one i bought last year.

So no "thank you" then to the OP for boosting the viewers on your car ad by an exponential amount? How do you know that half of the bidders on your car wern't people who had seen this thread and decided the car was worth a punt at ~£500.

A thank you for something that was originally meant in a bit of a malicious way? "To piss him off" I believe the phrase went.

Fair enough. Had a quick look and ruled it out on the info I found. I've bought more than enough cars on ebay so take the time to research them and the seller as much as possible whilst also taking most of the adverts wording with a pinch of salt. I'd advise against any form of story in future ads though just stick to the facts and let the auction run longer.
