WTF - Imagine yourself in his shoes - seems an honest enough advert for the car as well.

Not funny.

Bloke's unemployed, up against it, getting rid of his car for a low ball bid on a 1 day auction and just wants an idea of wether there are actually serious buyers out there?

Spectacularly wky to play silly buggers with him for no reason.

On one hand I feel bad for anyone who is unemployed and so short of cash they need to downgrade from a 2.0 astra.... on the other hand the car sounds like a dog and the last sentence of the listing makes the guy sound like a total tool.

  • watched.
edit: also 88k 'genuine miles' no history and 13 previous owners... hmmmmm..!

To be fair I cant see what difference it makes. He has a reserve price, doesnt matter how many people are watching it, it will either sell, or not.

I would say the people fking around watching his auction are proof that some people really need a life of their own.

Nah its bloody funny. If you walked past a car with a for sale sign in the window saying "do not look at my car unless you intend to buy it" would you not piss yourself laughing and intentionally just stand there bogging at it? I know I bloody well would biggrin

I can watch what I **** well like, thats what ebays all about. I often watch things I'm not planning to buy. sometimes because I might be selling one like it, sometimes because I'm researching the market.

I'm watching this one.

Looks an alright car - I had one for my first car (albeit a 1.6 16v) and it was great when it worked.

13 owners, and no evidence of cambelt change is ringing alarm bells though - but then if it drives fine and checks out it is cheap enough not to worry about.

I found out after I bought my ST24 that it had 9 previous owners (might have been more) and there is nothing wrong with it at all.

I don't get it? How is adding something to your watch list going to make any difference?

Perhaps he just wants to avoid someone winning the auction then disappearing/kick the tyres and fking off etc.? confused

Probably because it will get his hopes up that it will go for a good price if he sees that 2,000,000 people are watching it biggrin

And: "cambelt done at 70,000 but have no proof."

At least he's honest, but it's still going to cost me a cambelt replacement.
