Good news - ST24 is sold so I am on the look out for a new motor now smile

I know of a very nice B5 Audi A4 1.8T Sport coming up for sale soon, what is the general opinion on them?

Budget up to £1600, manual, and ideally under £1k to insure (e.g. 328i is the limit for insurance).

What do we think? smile

Crook,

How's your E36 M fairing? Costs wise etc.

House should complete next week and when the dust settles I'll be looking for One. The civic is a great motorway car but it's just not got that special feeling or different enough for me.
Nothing major since the last insp 2 apart from it still needs the downpipe bit welding/replacing. Otherwise it’s only been the cost of the car plus the work to get it happy plus a service, a bit of bodywork, some tyres and pads which all equals about the cost of the car again.
Currently though, the on-board consumption thing is pretending were getting 32+mpg fortunately I’m happy to pretend too.

I really like the idea of a 328i, but it seems to be difficult to find a good one. E28 looks fantastic, are they not quite expensive?

The Audi in question is a 1998 model, 61k, I know the current owner very well and it has been treated very well, just had the cambelt done, and most of the suspension refreshed. Selling due to a new purchase...

I'd take the Mondeo you've just sold over the Audi.

That is lovely, shame it is over 500 miles away from me frown

Should add - I am in Scotland!

(so long as there are no dried fruits involved).
Nope. Two batches - banana with belgian dark choc chips and banana with walnuts. Both in wholemeal muffiny goodness.
Banana? In both? What were you thinking man?
How nice banana and wholemeal muffins are?

His £1600 budget probably won't stretch to such things, but both would be nice to own.

I think 500+ miles is pushing it a bit, I would be happy with up to 300 ish.

Not a fan of the Audi then?

I had a lesson with a view to getting my PPL. It was the most boring experience. Sort of like being in a small boat with an outboard but in the sky. Which, after you got over the admittedly amazing fact that you are in the sky, became pretty dull.

I believe the common technique is to tell the missus you're "going out with the boys". Is that not right, GP?

Was that the line used before buying the grenade?

You could sell that on e36coupe.com for £100, if you don't mind dealing with scum who need to wait until payday, offer you £70 best price innit if you deliver it to Chalvey otherwise £60 cos of fuel my friend...
Hence the welcoming arms of the skip hehe

Been looking at them myself too. Seem to be a few around the £4k mark with slightly higher mileages.

Could get something decent for the same price but not much thats particularly special. Late E36M at similar money too but almost double on insurance, possibly more to go wrong and higher fuel.
Don't think about what can go wrong until it does go wrong...... hehe
Not a bad policy.

I'd take the M3 thanks.

I really like the Trophy but that one mentions Quentin Wilson in the advert, has done many miles and doesn't mention a damper rebuild having been completed.
