Odd comment. Barningham mind there's a LOT more tech in this car, and an interior to die for.

There are a lot better more desirable vehicles out there for £98k (yes i know its for the Cab version)

Can they get any lower than they already are?

Who cares about the extra 1/3 fuel economy as you drive from the show room you've lost 10k, and continue to do so every year for the next several year? But hey, that extra £30 saving at the pumps really made a difference laugh
Well it's not just consumption but range, people who actually own them (I.e. Not you) often day the range can be bordering ridiculously low. It's not just about saving money, more going further without filling up.

To be fair, it would have been much cheaper to install a bigger fuel tank than develop a whole new engine. smile

Looks like the ultimate coupé! Could be a tempting used buy in a few years.

Top he fair, the old engine wouldn't pass new emission regulations so they didn't have much choice. Fortunately, they've done both this time. At least to the m5 anyway

Is it really worth 100K? There is an 08 M6 on PH classified right now with 15000 miles on the clock for 39K. Hmmmmmm scratchchin

I suspect the turbocharged engine will suit the character of the car better anyway, really. It always struct me that the high-revving nature of the V10 was a bit odd in a big heavy cruiser like the six-series (not that I've driven an M6).

Isn't it the wrong badge to be mixing it in 100 grand company, not much more you are into Bentley, Aston and Lambo territory ?
And yet it'll be every good as a db9, for less money and more performance.
I used to think like that. Then sceptical me had an Aston for a week on loan. It's not just about what can be written down on paper.
Don't get me wrong, love it, its an epic car but people buying at that level don't want the same badge as a 118D, and being realistic, Aston, Lambo, Porsche or BMW, they all will be plenty fast enough, and then some, for anyone, if they arent it is probably down to bragging rights at the Golf club, if it is on the road then you are probably need to look at how fast you are driving.
Erm, I'm with you here, not arguing against you!

From the Autocar GTR vs M5 video, this has to be so much better to drive than its M5 sibling to stand a chance. I doubt it will be, and it won't have the V10's character to compensate.

It no more sells against the GTR than it does against a DB9. They are three different cars for different purposes.

I might be wrong but I think its actually quite an old engine, is it not a developmentr of the old M62 V8 that you could get in e39 5-series onwards?

Great looking car, not as keen on the interior (but not as bad as the new 3) - overall a huge improvement over the old one. Too expensive though - which is great if you want to buy a year-old one...

Previous M6 never really did anything for me, but that is rather nice.
