The few I have seen had massive panel gaps. I've never noticed such a thing on a modern car.

when the new AMG SL comes out next year i bet it'll look like a better purchase to some of the potential California market. only saying this because i sort of thought the california was aimed at people outside the previous ferrari-buying demographic plus the folding hardtop, some similar numbers etc. i remember this article... http://www.caranddriver.com/comparisons/2009-ferra...

these tweaks won't be enough to match it to the new SL presumably but by then the California will be a bit long in the tooth anyway will it not?

have i just made a totally irrelevant comparison?

edit - i see one quite regularly and love how it looks in the metal, i do really want one.
I agree with what you are saying and would much prefer a Mercedes SL AMG to the Ferrari, but being a father I would have to get the Ferrari as it has rear seats. Though I would most probably choose a Maserati instead.

The only way this is remotely possible is if Ferrari honour their pledge to paint it in any colour you want and you choose 'invisible ink' :-)

Massive panel gaps? Sounds strange..

Anyway, you can get these with delivery milage ( 3000 miles?) for just over 100 grand now..

What would you have, that or an M6?

I Reckon the california will become a classic. It has 4 seats and is way more practical than a 458 or a 430..

Maybe I'm wrong but I think you should go back and reconsider your theory flatline84?! Think the residuals are telling you something. The Mondial of its age. Another Ferrari classic laugh

I'd love to know where I can get a california for 100 grand. Cheapest I can see on auto trader is 115, 2 years old with 22000 miles on it. Base cost of a California is about 140, then 160 with options, so it's lost about a third of its value, which would be about right.

I wouldn't expect values of California to plummet like db9's or something similar because Ferrari control the production of their cars to keep up the allusion of them being rare.
