So, Tuesday night I went out with the other half for a meal and parked at a local pub/snooker hall that I am a member of thinking this would be safer than one of the car parks behind the restaurants. Fast forward two or so hours and I come back to my car and someone has superglued a good 2.5" by 2.5" piece of plastic onto the bonnet of my car and they really didn't want it to come off. It seems as though they used a whole tub of glue on it.

I'm quite miffed about it really, I mean the costs that it would take to get removed is enough on it's own, luckily I work part-time at a plant hire company so me and a few of the guys managed to get it off (although this didn't save my paint) getting it off it managed to take some of the paint off straight too the bare metal, I still need to get some of the glue off.

Sorry to bore any of you. Just thought I'd let you all know in case this is a new "fad".

Thanks for reading all.

Bit late now, but if it was superglue you could have eventually got it off without damaging the paint with lots of hot water.

Aye that's what I was thinking. We have a pressure washer that goes up to 170C. But one of the guys (who's worked on cars for years) thought that wouldn't work. Shame I didn't try.

Also, yeah shame they decided they needed to do it with others.

Im assuming there is no CCTV so you can't catchup with the scrotes that done this and super glue their faces to eachothers arses.

If the scum in question have used superglue then IIRC Acetone will soften and eventually dissolove it but i'm not sure what effect it will have on the cars paint.

If the Acetone has no effect but you do find the scrotes in question then pour the remaining Acetone on them but make sure they are not exposed to naked flame within 10 seconds of doing so wink

I think I'd be saying to the Snooker club owner/manager (as you're a member), 'while I was in here the other night, some eejut glued a piece of plastic to my car. Do you know anything about it? Have you heard it happen to anyone else?'

Aye, well my Dad was supposed to ask around last night (as he was in) but he probably forgot. Sadly there isn't any CCTV, there used to be but not any more. Shame really. I don't really think there is much chance of finding out who did it, unless I catch them trying to do it again. I think it's just a case of getting the glue off and repainting. Shame I didn't try some of the suggestions prior. Did attempt it with thinners but they didn't seem to help much.

I do really appreciate the tips, as I say still need to get the glue off.

I'm surprised it didn't just fall off - the only thing superglue will usually stick to is skin.

Do this.
Or re-enact The Human Centipede and do a proper job of it.

Sorry to hear about that OP. Shame you didn't try removing it properly though.

I had a customer who's car had superglue thrown all over it. An afternoon with me, some tardis, hot water and some wax made it come up like new again. Might be worth baring that in mind incase it happens again, although I hope it does not!

PS, if you catch the scrote who done it, write another word for "dock" and a PH smiley on his face with superglue then sprinkle some sparkles and metal filings onto the glue. It will look great, and the metal filings will prove nice and painful to remove.

Thanks for all the advice everyone. Really wish I'd asked here first too be honest. I'll get a picture tomorrow and post it for you all too see. Going to get some Acetone to get the rest of the glue off and then see if a touchup kit will work.
