I can't pm at the mo- it just gives me a send button/no text box today for some reason. Will do first thing.

Budget? Ideal would be a car owned for a longtime and looked after. Ideal would have PH'er Lee Muff's old ST24 that he'd looked after well. Repaired properly/preventative repairs before the item actually let's go etc etc.

I've hatched a plan. IF I can get a reliable 4 seater. Even an old Rover.....I can buy a MX5.

Which to answer the question = <1k +4k for mk2.5 mx5. Or 5k for one decent vehicle. I prefer the former.
Jag will be up for less than £1k smile

1998 R Reg Ford Puma 1.7 Lux.

Has been sat in my mothers garage for 3 years. It's only done 69k and has a long MOT (I get it done every year with the intention of selling it). I've owned it for yonks, bought it off a classic car club who bought it off Ford as a demo vehicle. £750 and it's yours.

Christ... If I had a couple of grand in my pocket I would be well happy, Judas' jag and Batty's jeep would be quite a little fleet. Will be checking my lottery ticket tomorrow night

Hora - some quick info on the Jag. Not got any current pics - only ones from when I bought it last June.

1997 XJ6 Executive
Currently on about 144k miles, Tax to end of April, MOT until mid-August IIRC. It's not perfect, but it's very nice and has given us no problems in the time we've had it.

Don't want to turn this thread into an ad, so if you'd like to know more drop me a line at judas[at]ntlworld[dot]com

Only selling because we've just bought the 750iL - if we had the space we'd keep it (and may well do so anyhow and damn the neighbour's house prices boxedin)

Is it bad that I want almost every car that's been mentioned so far?!

I know olly22n is selling his BMW 540i Touring (E34) on the Smoker Barges thread, that'd probably be in budget, and you'd be able to have another three kids before you'd fill it...
