Christ... If I had a couple of grand in my pocket I would be well happy, Judas' jag and Batty's jeep would be quite a little fleet. Will be checking my lottery ticket tomorrow night

Every penny I have is precious at the moment. Nursery fees, house repairs two years on. Everything. I've got 17days holiday carried over from last years entitlement! Hey ho tongue out
Personally, I'd recommend you definitely don't want to buy a cheap barge then - running costs will not correlate with the cheap purchase cost.

Rather than spend money on sheds, spend your dosh on getting a single car for top money in immaculate condition, from a careful private owner. Garlick's Merc estate was a perfect example of this - it might look expensive, but it won't lose value and is unlikely to throw up big unexpected bills every year.

If my car had made what I wanted at Auction I'd have had that off you.

Which is why it would have made a good purchase from Garlick!

Discussed at length in the bargain barge thread a few weeks ago, plus there's the Diary of an uberbarge thread on the Reader's Cars forum. smile

Is it bad that I want almost every car that's been mentioned so far?!
You aren't the only one. I see myself as an automotive we.

I'd have a go in anything, drive anything to experience it.
Too right. Need to have a look down the back of the sofa and convince myself we need a 5th car... Jag/Jeep/e34 540 winning for me at the mo!

I've got an 850 T-5R that should really be going up for sale as I've just traded in my lowish mileage, all the toys, Mondeo ST tdci for an old Celica and a Transit Crew cab for biking duties....

Not got a long MOT but could sort that fairly easily.

94 M, 153k, auto, good history, was thinking just over £1.5k so would probably do it around that price if I wasn't advertising.

We may have exchanged emails last time it was tentatively up for sale (or when you did one of these threads before!!).

I have a 1996 corsa TD

Runs ok, has electric windows and mirrors.

Perfect to run around in. Lots of receipts and recently serviced.

Yours for very cheap.

how aboout a 1997 vw polo 1.4 - has just 26,000 miles on the clock, two owners from new (my late grandad and me) - silver, cloth seats, electric windows & sunroof.

MOT until August and Taxed till October.

Has a few scuff marks and tyres are a little old but plenty of tread. Nippy of the line, will hit a tonne on the mway, handles like a house fly and very frugal on the petrol.

Hang on a transit just for this - you must have a lot of biking duties?
