...and then I noticed this

I actually don't suspect scrote involvement, despite happening overnight between a friday and a saturday. It's just such a sleepy area.
plus bloke physics suggests this was the point of impact:

which if it was something flying, means that it came from next door which is an £850k mansion. But there's glass on the outside too!
Plus the way it's parked, if someone was putting out windows surely they'd just go straight for the back. mystery!

Oh well, cleared the worst of it out, insurance glass people on their way to put a perspex temp in (sure to enjoy a weight saving performance advantage here).

so, um, have a better car related weekend than me!

Are those doors/windows unique to the Escort Estate or were they the same on the 3dr hatch? Is availability ok?

If you has the glass, you could sort it yourself in short order to avoid insurance hassles etc.

EDIT - your car does need a wash though! smile

Agree with above.

Used Ford parts emporium,2nd hand glass.

Fixed yourself in couple of hours.

Probably cheaper than the glass excess ? smile

I don't know, the doors are quite elongated, they must be longer than the 5 door, and the 5 door is actually a bigger car. for rear passenger access I presume. But hopefully availability won't be a problem - surely it could be custom cut at the end of the day?
I quite like it filthy, looks good biggrin

next door are elderly wink
the positioning and angles just suggest complete freak accident or unintended damage from something distant. It's difficult to explain on here.

ETA: and yeah, I know there is money to be saved, but I just don't have the time. That's what insurance is for!

That's been broken with a screwdriver jammed between the frame ad the glass.

3dr estate door glasses are the same as a 3dr hatch.

sounds possible but I just can't believe it happening. The inside of the car was completely undisturbed - I have a good memory for this stuff - and in any case it's not the car you'd expect to find goodies in is it! and no, I don't have any enemies.

Probability suggests it most likely WAS someone rather than a force of nature or freak accident, but hey, I'll get over it. If it happens again, then I'll be interested.

nah tongue out no courses near here (I could imagine some neighbors doing that in their gardens though)

From the looks it seems correct what someone else said , looks like a screwdriver and its been forced so hard its shattered the glass.

A good friend of mine attempted a break in with a scaffold pole but missed the glass and swiped the pillar , he was only trying to give his gf a lift home.......tt.

Ah i was allways strange receiving letters from Bar L.

So certain people can put it in the window of, let's for arguments sake, say a Transit Van so at a glance it looks as if it's taxed. I guess.

Never understood that myself, the work vans have had discs stolen but why, if it's not taxed then it will show on ANPR or stop, if it's a disc from another vehicle that will show on a stop and ANPR. All you are saving is someone glancing and not checking, which a fake could do just as well or photo printed off for 10p.
