The best car seats to make a sofa, TG style.

Find an old BMW 635csi with the comfort seat option. Can probably pick them up for a few quid now:

Everyone is being far too sensible; you want to go for the workshop look, mate:
Get a knackered old oil stained seat from a Metro or Micra, attach to 3 or 4 car tyres with a length of bailer twine/washing line/old tow rope and enjoy! (For the full authentic experience, drink a cup of tea from a cracked mug with milk that ever so slightly off).
You could even go the whole hog and stop buying bog roll and use old newspapers instead…Any young lady you bring back is bound to be impressed!
On a more serious note, I reckon the big leather seats from the Granada/Scorpio would be a good choice… very comfy and nice and cheap I’d have thought.

That's cool... Well done Sir!
I suspect I will be disappointed by the next question, but do the electrics work?
It would be possible for the electrics to remain intact and be operable via a motorcycle battery and charger setup but it would cause the seat base to be alot higher on the swivel unit. Extra cabling and weight would also be a down side for the amount of occassions the electrics would be used. I suspect I will be disappointed by the next question, but do the electrics work?

£789! Does the armrest come stuffed with cocaine?I'm pretty sure the ones used on Top Gear are from a Jaguar Mk2.
As far as comfy car seats go, my vote would either go to the Jensen Interceptor or the Citroen CX. The CX seats are so un-car-like they might actually be cool as furniture and would avoid the whole bachelor-pad cliche anyway.
I recently got myself a late Sixties Skoghaug recliner for watching TV on.
One like this, in black leather too:
The comfiest chair I've ever sat on.
