Happen to stop at a LR dealer a week ago. In their compound they had something like 20+ Evoque's and LR4's waiting to be delivered. All waiting for 12 plates! Pretty impressive when you work out that this is private buyers (not fleet) and around £750,000 worth of motors....
And this was a provincial small dealer. What the hell is it like at bigger ones? But no plates, so I cant claim the '12' spotting. But lots of people wait for March the 1st still!

BTW ,i was under the impression any car seen out with a new plate before the
first official day could have plate removed and a "61" stuck on it.
Not sure how that would work? Once it has a 12-plate assigned that's it, can't change it to a 61...first official day could have plate removed and a "61" stuck on it.
I saw 11, '12 plates heading home from Wakefield at about 6am this morning - all BMW's and MINI's. Ok, they were on a transporter heading out of Thorne!

Was behind a rather nice Merc S350 AMG on a "12" plate earlier.
How could it be an amg if its just a 350?I can only assume its got some "AMG" sports package fitted hence the badge, like the "M" sport badges on BMW diesels?

Saw on last night without any sign of trade plates ????
Passed a few on the way to work this afternoon, the best has got to be the 12 plate Nissan GTR.....
Just a shame the owner went with the last three reg letters GTR :-(
The plates were probably on the back seat / in the passenger footwell - not technically legal but common practice.Passed a few on the way to work this afternoon, the best has got to be the 12 plate Nissan GTR.....

What's wrong with a GTR plate on a GTR?!

My Sister is getting a new company A3 on the 9th. When the fleet company representative called to confirm this, she said it's currently been on a '61 plate but can be changed to a '12 if you'd prefer - my sister said she would and then got a return call confirming the new number. Whether the dealer had just assigned a number without registering the car I don't know.
How strange. Does the date marker mean that little to the industry that leasing companies don't care about the having the later one?Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
