People with enough money will buy one of these and put it away as an investment. As said, it's last of the line n/a M engines.
Look at how well M coupes are doing on a 52 plate with low mileage. Appreciating.
If you can find one - E36 GT2. Appreciating
CSL- don't have to say anything about that one.

You can say what you like but this will appreciate in due time, due to the fact it is last of the line, true, high revving, n/a engine.

And the people out there that say, " I wouldn't have one given " need to have a word.

Bloody good car and will be a shame to see it finish production.
But hey, BMW have never really made a bad M car, so, bring on the next one with turbos, bells and whistles.

Yawn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A ltd edition M3, are BMW telling us that the M3 is now a main stream car that no longer shines as an example of the German marquee engineering prowess and that they have to issue ltd edition models to spruce up the image, or are they telling us that sales for the new M5 are flagging and are trying a last effort to clear their stocks by adding/removing pointless things!

Oh dear. BMW, yet again, trying to create a 'special' model that isn't.
Shocking colours, shocking wheels, not sure how BMW would envigle £4k out of anyone tbh.
The days of a true drivers M3 died with the E30 Sport Evo; each successive model combatted increasing weight by bigger engine and more power. And now stupid colours and wheels.
Detestable.

you mean like the special edition porsche 911's then? or the pagani zonda special editions even?

yeah....i see what you mean about it meaning the normal version MUST be a main stream car and no longer mean engineering prowess rolleyes

the engineering in the M3 does shine, especially the engine which is an absolute master piece.

Every manufacturer does it when a model is coming to the end of it's lifespan. From Pagani with the Zonda through to Renault with the Clio "ipod edition".

People like to buy new models to impress their mates/neighbours/workmates, the only way an outgoing model will "look new" is a Ltd edition. It's just business.

As for this M3, I'd say it is an "example of the German marquee engineering prowess" in that they haven't needed to fettle mechanically with a car developed 6 years ago. These are purely cosmetic tweaks.

Santorini - we're few and far between.... smile

But pictures don't do it justice. Well, not one's taken by a point and shoot anyway)

And it's not metallic.

Lovely car but I'd want to pick my own colour and spec, ideally this!

My car, minus the silly orange side indicator things for the States! :-)

I'd love one, and would swap my interlagos blue one for an imola red version except that I buy these cars to be driven and that would be pointless in an investment purchase

Still not convinced the black wheels and kidneys work with Santorini.
