What's high gloss shadow line when it's at home?
Shiny black bits of trim instead of chromed bits of trim.
I'm sure someone on here will know.....didn't they have that trim on all M3s anyway?

The M Sport BMWs certainly do.....so actually perhaps BMW are telling us something between the lines...
No m3s have chrome trim

I didn't mean that, I meant the shiny black gloss....

Actually nobody really cares!

Nice colour but the nasty black wheels look horrid, there is a very good reason why almost all wheels are SILVER....

If i get one for my 60 mile round trip commute, will i get fked in the anus by Shell?

ie: how much worse are they mpg wise than a Z4M/e46 M3?

Because i wouldn't call it a "run-out special", i'd call it "the last proper M car BMW ever made" and i want one

Or perhaps because the alloy they are made from is silver and wheels are very easily damaged... tongue out

It's not really though is it? It's a sort of dull grey.

Besides, if you don't have stupidly low profile tyres it's actually quite hard to damage a wheel.

My dad averages 21mpg ish on Vpower but 18-19mpg on regular.

Can get 30mpg on a steady trip. They aren't great on fuel but not THAT bad for a 414bhp na car.

I get 19.7mpg average in my E92, the same journeys in an E46 M3 I was getting 23.1mpg.

I like to think I'm getting to work quicker in the E92 so I'm productive for longer, in turn earning more money than the increased cost.

Now how much would my productivity increase if I got a helicopter for my commute...... scratchchin

Doubt it.

The only decent plaque is on the E30 M3 220ps versions, individually numbered on a well crafted bit of kit. E46 M3 CSL are pretty naff.
The E46 CSL...naff?

Can someone show him the door.

I think he means the plaque, as opposed to the whole car smile

And the plaque WAS crap. Dealer: "Here you go sir, they sell double sided tape down the road at Staples. Doodle-pip!"

This is very like the A1 Quattro story... people love special editions!

It doesn't matter if they're good value or not. Stick a plaque on the dash and everyone wants one.

I'd bet good money that in a few years time these limited edition cars are changing hands for a premium over the standard M3. You only have to go on the E46 forum and listen to people getting all excited about the BMW 330Ci Clubsport to realise that enthusiasts love anything that makes them think their car is a little bit more special than everyone elses.
Fools and their money... The E36 GT2 seems to command silly premiums when it was nothing more than a cosmetic makeover.

V8 Bye Bye. When will BMW put the real numbers on the backs of their new 3 series cars.318D 318T and delete the 328 etc as this is surely trade description violations.

What's the difference between that and Estoril (which I don't think they use any more)?
Santorini is a deeper blue, and Estoril has a more metallic pigment to it... Santorini seems almost solid (at least in BMW applications).

Estoril was much nicer.. They should bring it back...
I don't think they can make Estoril any more because of the modern pain processes.....I am sure I read that somewhere. I had an Estorl E36 M3 Cab with black leather seats back in 1997.....never forget driving that off the forecourt! Those were the days......

It's THE M colour IMHO......

Was hoping it was some kind of SMG type special instead of a free Sat Nav optional extras run out. yawn.

When I first saw this I was rather hoping the 500 referred to the number of ponies it puts out.

Audi used to have the right idea with its RS models which were always released a year or so before the life cycle of the base car ended to boost interest.
