I'd love a standard competition pack car in Imola red, that would look amazing.
I've got one coming next month in Le Mans Blue with the comp pack. Can't wait, could be the last chance to sample that engine.

I'm sure someone on here will know.....didn't they have that trim on all M3s anyway?

The M Sport BMWs certainly do.....so actually perhaps BMW are telling us something between the lines...
I'm a sad anorak and I know. hehe

Standard SE spec comes with chrome shadowline.
M Sport comes with 'High Gloss Shadowline' (gloss black).
M3s (for some unknown reason) come with a satin black shadowline as standard. It looks rubbish and they charge extra to upgrade to a 'High Gloss' one when the lesser M Sport cars get it as standard.

The shadowline itself is the strip that runs around the windows and, in the case of the M3, on the door mirror stalks (where the High Gloss one really makes a difference).

Lovely car but I'd want to pick my own colour and spec, ideally this!

Unfortunately BMW has saturated the market and residuals have taken a massive hit as a result...special edition or not. The only example to hold its value in any meaningful way is the GTS....
Small challenge m'lud confused

This one http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3482148.htm is basically offered £20k below list and there are two more AUC cars offered at list price on PH classifieds.....oh and Hexagon had a brand new one sitting in their showroom before Xmas and is probably still there. So out of 15 cars at least three are on the market. My guess is Tom Hartley paid an awful lot less than £99k for that one....mind it's probably on SOR.

Much prefer that to the Ed500 pictured. The only issue is that I wouldn't be able to ponse about claying and polishing it. And that would upset me.

LOL at the hate comments...!!

Oh dear. BMW, yet again, trying to create a 'special' model that isn't.
Shocking colours, shocking wheels, not sure how BMW would envigle £4k out of anyone tbh.
The days of a true drivers M3 died with the E30 Sport Evo; each successive model combatted increasing weight by bigger engine and more power. And now stupid colours and wheels.
Detestable.

I think you drive a car that while good, is metallic light blue?!
And seem to hate every other car. Strange.

Standard hardcore PHer response to any M3 - the E30 is the only true M3.

as nice as they are. for a daily driver (i.e. what the M3 has always been) i'd take the E92 M3 all day long thanks.

Me too. The E30 has a rather non purist turbo 4 pot. And no brakes. Lovely chassis but it's not all that quick either.

I'd probably go for an E90 though as I need back doors!

i think you're getting confused, the E30 M3 has a NA 4 pot. the 2002 turbo had a turbo charged M10 motor. the S13 found in the E30 M3 was NA, and based on the same M10 motor.

i prefer the coupe styling but i'm glad they did a saloon either way biggrin

Turbo 4 pot?

Well it was suggested but they went with n/a in the end

It's a S14 B23 or B25 found in E30 M3's.

I have a block with certain things it seems. I KNOW it's N/A but because it's based on the 2002 block (which could be turbo'd) I always things the M3 was turbo'd too. I could blame it on getting old but that's a bit lame.

Detestable? Possibly not to your taste but a long way from being detestable. Can anyone say anything without gross exaggeration? Pillock.
