Go for something bold like Samtviolett or Merlin from the Exclusive range. Buy the colour you like and as long as it is tasteful it won't impact on resale.

Thanks for feedback. Agree that as long as it suits car then resale no issue. The more I think about it the more I think third point retongue outolice snooker issue is complete rubbish. And doubt modern paints really would age quickly (only after years when car's lost 90+% of value anyway) so red it is!

ps - love the colour of that RS6 but the cost of special paint like that is crazy!

how about something from the audi " individual" range, cause choosing a audi is a really odd ball, no ones ever done it before when theres better cars on the market choice.

Sounds like a plan, get a Silver one, don't think anyone has thought of that, a Silver Audi, perhaps get a black leather interior.

If you are in a hurry for it, perhaps ordering an "out there" colour might add on a couple of months over the more mainstream colours - might not be an issue for you, just saying. Last I heard Audi were quoting 5 months for a car to order anyhow.

S4 Avant - good choice, btw. Really enjoying mine (which is, ahem, white boxedin)

Buy the colour you want. Screw the re-sale value.
Agreed. The world does not need another silver, black or white Audi

[quote=J4CKO]What I wonder is what were the people who bought those mint green Boxsters with matching Tree Frog Skin interiors thinking, it never looked good, or those that bought a decent colour and then went for that livid beige interior, not the unobtrusive (but still beige) but the one that is like Arthur Daleys Camel Skin Jacket ?

I had a flatmate who was specifically searching for a 911 in that green with the mint interior.

Shows that if you like it, the chances are at least one other person out there will agree!

To be fair, if there were a better range of standard optional colours (if that makes sense, as opposed to the Exclusive / Designo Audi equivalent) then I probably would have gone for something else, but the basic range is pretty rubbish so I can see why a lot of people just go for something "safe", me included I guess

Buy one in red and look after it for me please! By the time you're ready to let it go I will probably be in the market for that exact car.

I'm currently on the look out for my next car and I'm looking for anything that is an actual colour. Red is the top of the list but I would just like to be able to find it easily in a car park.

By changing the colour to just red in an AT search I am left with an average of 8% of the cars for sale, it makes finding a good one very hard work but I will not settle for grey.

it doesnt even matter, in 3 years when the finance is up and its time to sell on you wont be able to cause there be 4000 other audi s4s just onto the market

Biggest problem?

Some knob of a used car salesman will tell you it's "the wrong colour" when you come to trade it in, in an attempt to knock the price down.

Well, that was my most recent experience of owning a brightly coloured car.

Get the colour you like. Stuff resale, it won't make a material difference, unless it's Barbie pink!

This is spot on. Real shame as plenty of cars look very dignified in green (e.g. that beaten up ferrari 456). I tried to look for a nice green car recently to find that very VERY few people bought one new. frown

Bad choice... except on pre-war bentleys.

I had a green Viva, green Capri, green Mercedes & now have a green Lotus. Never had a problem selling (OK I did kill the Viva so ddn't have to sell it)

They are the same person who will tell you that your Silver one is such a common colour and so worth less.

I think dark green looks lovely on executive cars. I drive past a current shape 3 Series coupe most days and think it suits it perfectly
