Problems with buying bright coloured cars?

I had a green Viva, green Capri, green Mercedes & now have a green Lotus. Never had a problem selling (OK I did kill the Viva so ddn't have to sell it)
But you didnt sell any of them to me.Colour is basically the single most subjective thing about a car. I really hate it when a pushy car salesman tells me his car is the "best" colour. I feel like asking him if it uses less petrol because it's silver/black/white/chartreuse.

Any shade of green is a disaster on a car come resale time.
Although I do agree that any car that is green is a disaster, there are some exceptions to the rule. The Dodge Challenger's from the 70's, and other Dodges from those days, Even though they were out there in there time, they look wicked when there restored now days. Puddenchucker said:
Buy the colour you want. Screw the re-sale value.
No consider re-sale at every decision and that way you get a compromised car and take the depreciation hit for the 2nd hand market to decide whichever option you didn't tick is the must have. So it becomes ooh you went with the 19's buyers don't like those due to the tyre prices, but if you had the 18's it would be ooh you should have specced the 19's as buyers want the big wheels it makes the car look sporty.
Despite having a grey car I would always go for something colourful if buying new. My car was a great deal
Second hand so had to compromise on the colour. Really wanted the bright electric blue.
If I was getting a DS3 itd have to be yellow on black. If it was a focus st... Electric orange. A fabia vrs? The bright green (on black)
Having said that black generally works on all cars.

Well whatever you choose, you'd be hard pushed to make a worse decision than about 10 years ago or so (when white was very out of mode), there were a few S-Type Jags specced with Solid White paint and 'ox-blood' red VELOUR interior. Brave brave buyers.
Anyway, get what you want. In the big scheme of things, a Red car isn't going to be a stoinker at trade-in time and quality paints (with reasonable care) should keep their shade for a fair ol time.
