Mad, it looks like a normal S3.... Nothing special about it.

Last year, I test drove an S3 with auto and couldn't get on with it at all. If you accelerated at low revs, nothing happened then it would drop a gear or two and come on boost and you'd have to come off the throttle to avoid hitting the car in front. Very difficult to modulate - at least on short acquaintance - I'd guess a manual would be better, but not available on the RS3...

If you on VW's car configurator you can spec a golf R to almost £45k!!!

Not that i am calling this a bargain... both are too much for me tongue out

Sure to take a hit depreciation wise as the P.R. spin goes into overdrive for new A3, shown imminently at Geneva incidentally.

if i saw one of these at the light in my 997C4S with the driver giving it the large i would think he's a right dreamer and rev off into oblivion. the fact that he will keep right up with me would wipe the smile right off my face. 4.6 0-60 is astounding!!! rebadging it as a 1.6tdi would be even cooler.

£40k buys a decent amount of nice metal. Daft to spend so much on a glorified shopping trolley.

...for real world quick driving, this would be fantastic. It would keep up with virtually anything on the road and still be a pretty nice thing to sit in. Ok so it won't perhaps excite as some others but some people don't want to be excited all the time and just want to make quick, comfortable progress.

...as a company car it would be ace ...personally i would have something else if i was buying but i can see the appeal.

It weighs the same as an Aventador which has a V12 engine. Thats got to be something to brag about at Sunday footy.

Not quite the same but is it? The main reason for using Haldex is its cheaper and easier on fuel if it's basically a fwd

Another cock-mobile from the guys at Audi. Simply a car for people to wave their penis's about saying "my car is as quick as a Ferrari."

Not a huge fan of the Rs3, but youd have to be mental to spend 40k on a fwd focus with a naff, already dated wrap.

Eh? Surely, with its understated looks, it is quite the opposite.

Stealthtastic. I've been took out in a tweaked TTRS. Devastating all weather everyday tool. 1/3 of the price 997 Turbo - another dull looking generic car that I wouldn't mind owning too.

Yep, only it isn't. Evo took a bunch of super-hatches including the RS3 to the Alps last year along with an Enzo to do a "giant killers" type story, only it didn't work out that way - the Ferrari blitzed them completely.

I'd love one. Don't have the 40k spare however.. frown
