I suppose if you drive the car, this is all you will see. It's the same old story of the Kings New Clothes, if this is what you're looking at from the inside then don't worry about the outside and what your slaves have to look at.
Though I must admit they got the interior right, it'll end up just like the story. Everyone will point and laugh. A lesson in how to alienate your new Mulsanne customers. Bentley need to realise that if they go after lets say the 'nouveau' market they will lose buyers at the top end.
It makes me want to congratulate BMW for getting Rolls-Royce so right when VW are slowly destroying the good name of Bentley where it once stood for opulence and class.

Mr. CC.

Well to be honest i don't think it looks any worse (to my eyes at least) than a Cayenne or Q7. However, i'm not going to be rushing out to buy one, not really my cup of tea.
As has been said many times before the sad truth is that, for a variety of reasons, Bentley (and others) are more or less forced to make these vulgar looking creations in order to survive. But there you go - things change. This is what currently keeps investors happy. That's the way of the world.

Loose that super big fog light and that extra bit of grill to the side of the main grill and it wouldn't be that bad.
This just looks like a regal Porsche Cayenne (ok, the Cayenne is possibly one of the ugliest cars ever made).

Really? This, or a Full Fat Range Rover Autobiography with some normal wheels in a discreet colour. This just looks tacky, an understated Range Rover would look classy. There’s a reason why the Range Rover has been made for so long!

and yet it will sell like hot cakes in China and Middle East!
The Arabs and Asians will lap this up!!!
Nope. Definitely not in Asia and I am sure the Arab boys won't be ordering this without a serious makeover. It's being universally panned in China today. The Chinese blog world is having a jolly good laugh at this hideous effort and asking if this is a joke. That this abomination makes a Cayenne (a vehicle I absolutely despise) mildly attractive is nothing short of sensational. WHO signs off on these things? Is it so difficult to make something even remotely attractive? They did a good job with the new GTs, then this.. how?The Arabs and Asians will lap this up!!!
Concept or not, as far as styling is concerned this thing is a joke on four wheels. Not even those with awful taste will take a second look at it. This has got to be one of the rare times you DON'T want the production car to look anything like the concept.
..and breathe.
hey hum ...
To be fair, as an SUV goes, sort out teh headlights and those daft fog spots and it's not much different from a torag, cayenne or rangie.

It just looks awful. Not only is it too garish and ghastly, but it looks old fashioned, odd angles and 1980's style rear lights, the boot lid looks like a 1980's Range Rover with a bodykit on. It doesn't quite look big or chunky enough either. It actually looks too small. The exhausts are ridiculous, the front fog lights and headlights just looks awful and out of place, the sharp angled window frames on the side profile look terrible next to the sweeping curves or the wheel arches and door bulges. It's just all wrong, from every angle. It really does look horrific.
Apart from that though?Back to the drawing board.
Why do all designers cram the people inside right next to the doors and than leave enough space in the middle for a 'fridge?. Start design at the seat and work outwards. The Range Rover has the right proportion of window to body but this Bentley has the silly Evoque 'elephant sat on the roof' design . The front must lose the turbine lights. As for wheels, only idiots have tyres less than 55% aspect ratio. Do the Bentleys parents have enough off-road ride experience?

Apart from that though? And after having sat in a top spec Range Rover Autobiography Supercharged 5.0 V8 with stacks of options at the London Boat Show, I was blown away. It's incredible, a fantastic machine.
