I know Kia are making better cars since the Pride:

But I really don't think they're here yet:

Does anyone else thing they ought to back off a bit! I mean; yeah... but erm... no

I reckon it looks like something I might use to chisle out a new lock on a door. Saying the Ford Modeo looks better and the Passat is more expensive than the Ford does not really help the case in favour of the Kia.

On a separate note I can imagine buying a Kia with a 7-year warranty for use on track days.

Those alloys are horrible. Nice looker apart from those though. I really like the Sportage, best looking small 4x4 IMO.

they're just the ones to get you on message. In reality it would come with 13-inch steels and wheel-trims

Oh by the way... has anyone seen how arrogant the ad actually is?

Have been in a few of these new KIa's and have to say that they are bloody good!

If you are after a white goods car for a to be or mile munching and can see past the badge, the interior fit out is as solid / good as ford / vag etc, and a very nice place to be. Engines have more than enough go to keep the car out of trouble, and they are looking like quality cars outside too.

Dunno about the adverts though, not seen one.

I prefer the Kia, I think the Z8 is hideous.

I thought the ad was good to start with and suited Kia. Now that I've seen it pretty much every time I turn on the TV (not actually that often) I feel its a bit pretentious and is the opposite to how I first saw it. It should have been a much shorter campaign.

Anyone else think that that's (figuratively speaking) what the next Saab 9-3 should look like..?

Aside from the slightly dodgy ad, Ford/VX must be frightened by the likes of Kia, many the 'grey non PH' people I know have already purchased or are considering.

They have a serious offering now.

I'd say the Optima looks a lot better than the Mondeo/Insignia IMO. I'd agree that the established brands should be very wary of the Hyundai Kia group. They have very big sales numbers around the world already and very big goals!

Hyundai pretty much went from nothing to the world's biggest shipbuilder in not too many years, the car side of the business would love to do the same!

I am old enough to remember when Datsun (nissan) first brought cars over here, the same comments were made then about them as people are making about KIA. But you must remember that these cars will not be bought by enthusiasts they will be bought by people who want value, long warranties give them that as it becomes a throw away item. Give them a few more years and they will be seenin the same vein as others as they introduce hero cars like the GTR

What? I don't get it - are you saying it looks like a chisel?

I don't see a problem with Kia. They make good looking, affordable, cheap to run and seemingly reliable cars. That is pretty much what most of the general public want, not including badge snobs and petrol heads.

I can see them stealing a lot of sales from Ford and Vauxhall.

I think they are very clever ads. I'd also very seriously consider an Optima next time round, really nice looking car.

I've driven one, and whilst it's not a class leader, it's pretty good and certainly competitive with most of the other mainstream offerings.

I had a Kia Rio on rental last weekend.
As said - if you want an A to B, white goods kind of car to use and abuse for a few years. I don't think you can go wrong.
I was impressed with the feel and smoothness of the drive.

I've driven a few for my work and I'm massively impressed with them.

i think the adverts are clever and will get people through the showroom doors....once there I don't think it will be a hard sell to get customers to part with their money

tell me another mainstream marque that seem to have 'got it right' as much as Kia at the moment?
- decent styling (imho)
- decent engine range
- good pricing
- 7 year / 100k warranty

Or he's saying he's bad at selecting tools for basic woodworking.
