New Kia ad's a bit sh1p?
Discussion
I don't watch much TV so I've only seen the advert once or twice and not enough to annoy me.
However when I first saw that new car I thought it was a pretty tidy looking effort and a big step forwards stylistically. Not that different from a Mondeo (which is itself a pretty nice looking car).
I have not driven a Kia but I can imagine that they hold appeal to a certain demographic of the car buying public, and I have nothing against them for that. They might even be a pretty sensible choice for many...
IMO the "mass market" for cars has got very, very expensive. Something "good enough" at the right price with long warranty might look pretty appealing to lots of people.

KIA have come on in leaps and bounds in recent times, and today they are producing some fine looking vehicles at a decent price with a decent warranty.
Scoff them at your peril. I wish all car brands were advancing as quickly, and I reckon they will be a big deal in the not too distant future.
Sadly (for them) it seems they have the same problem that Skoda had with brand perception.

This is likely to be one of the cars I will be looking at this time next year, when I get my next Company car.
Had a look around one a few weeks back, and they are pretty nice cars, well made, nice look and feel to the interior, as well as the spec and pricing means, I may find it hard to find a better car, for the price that will suit my needs (20k motorway miles per year, good mpg) better.
The reviews and sales figures (for it in other countries) would suggest they have hit their target market bang on.
Adverts are a little bland.

Oh by the way... has anyone seen how arrogant the ad actually is?
I don't think I've seen it, and the ads I've found on YouTube are pretty good can you link the one that annoys you?Personally I think Kia are a good thing for car buyers generally because they're going to force everyone to up their game to compete.

Or, come to think of it, SEATs recent "Enjoyneering" tagline.

I think this man, ex designer at Audi may have something to do with the looks of the current crop of Kia's
As for the simple adverts we get over here in Blighty, check out the ones Kia did for the Superbowl over in the States

Indeed. And look how that perception has changed over the last 10 years.Scoff them at your peril. I wish all car brands were advancing as quickly, and I reckon they will be a big deal in the not too distant future.

A pat on the back to Kia. They're making the effort in the face of a lot of lazy design and apathy towards customers so commonly seen with other marques.

look at what people were saying about Skoda a few years ago and what people said about the Japanese brands in the 70s
