Lovely car but I will keeping my Boxster Spyder thanks very much!
Same here, had an old Boxster S 2001, a 997 & 993 but the Spyder is by far the best to drive, drive fast and feel special in (IMHO) I love the new Boxster, but in a year or so it will blend into the car park like 911's & Boxsters tend to, but the Spyder keeps drawing a crowd outside the shops or have people turning their necks as it goes past... Biased... yes, but I love it!
Now if they make a Spyder in the new version and go even more unique and extreme then I might well be very excited.

Summed up nicely, it is a nice motor but not special enough in a way the Spyder is. Mind you the new car appeals to a different audience/marketplace. The Spyder is also a very very rare sight on uk roads! Great review as always from Chris. Really explains what you want to hear rather that stupid nonsence. I am looking forward to the new Caymen. Hopefully it will be as good. IMO the Boxster is a fantastic car but in the UK especially Scotland it makes no sense.
How do you explain that? If you say the weather I disagree. Doesn't need to be warm, just dry, which is actually quite a lot of the time. FloppyRaccoon said:

Stunning looking car.
How are you finding the roof system?
Again I would love to own one if I stayed in a country which had a summer
Thanks, the roof is dead easy to be honest, Top Gear for example made a meal of it to fill time on the show it's really not that difficult. It's no worse than a Elise roof once you know what your doing! How are you finding the roof system?

P.S. Why can't Porsche stop vertical smears on the windows? Every time you lower a window in a modern Porsche, there they are. Annoying for those affected by OCD tendencies.
That would be me Seriously loving Boxster and 991 in guards with those wheels too. Great vid CH.

New boxster looking good. Can't wait to see and drive one. But I like the rarity of my spyder and the looks. Dunno if they will re do the spyder, but it would be a good 4-5 years away.
If the spyder sold well a new one will be out about the time of a mid term refresh. Hopefully it'll have a proper handbrake to go with it.This is exactly how I want my car reviews..... top work guys!
On the car. Porsche has done a fantastic job imo on this Boxster. It really does look fantastic. If Ferrari made a car that looked as good as this, for the price, with the performance, technical competence and finish quality. Everyone would be drooling..... there are far to many people on their high horses with stereotypical views about it being a hairdressers car etc.
Just my 2 cents.

It's probably a good review, but I switched off after 25 seconds when he said that the 'important' question was 'Have Porsche finally built a Boxster that a man can buy?' - Really? Is that the most important question you can come up with?
I applaud your patience, I had to turn off after eight seconds because car reviews never contain anything of relevance if the test car is red, sure it was a good video though.Brilliant review again, Monkey. I genuinely do enjoy watching your reviews, they get the biggest hits of all the stories I post up on my website and long may they continue.
I am absolutely smitten with the new Boxster. It has a delicacy to the styling, yet looks aggressive and sporty too. I love the subtle bulge the front wheelarches have now got, curving back down to the bodysides. Would be interested to read your thoughts on the 'basic' 2.7 too, historically the base model has been the sweeter drive so would be interested to hear how it is in the 981.
Oh, and is it me, or are there an usually high number of trolls on this thread?
