RE: Chris Harris video: Porsche Boxster S
Discussion
A great video - just watched it again.
Having spec'd one up - hmm. If I were after "new" and had to have "new" then I'd be very tempted to start saving... however, the point made earlier about a 2-year old 997 has merit. Mind you, if you were in that mind set, then £60k gets all sorts of vehicles that are "better". But new.. yes, new, it's lovely.

Really? I don't agree, and I owned an early Boxster myself.
Best looking Boxster by far! Don't understand some of these idiotic comments unless people are just looking to start arguments. What's with the guy going on about an MR2 when he has an Audi A3...Imagine the new Cayman will also look fantastic!
As a new 911 convertible vs Boxster, I'd take the Boxster and pocket the rest. However, I'd just get a 2nd hand 911 Convertible.

i personally think its underpowered for a sports car
they need to do a bigger power possibly turbo version too
it will enhance the image imho
It has over 300BHP! Come on now...they need to do a bigger power possibly turbo version too

But I really, really want one. I was considering a Cayman R as my next car but now I need one of these.

You are getting paid too much! I remember when you were looking for a grad job. Goodness, I thought I worked in a lucrative industry...must try harder. But I really, really want one. I was considering a Cayman R as my next car but now I need one of these.
I'm a porsche fan but I've never been a fan of the styling. This, however, I like very, very much! The original boxter was never a real looker but it still sold like hot cakes. This, looking like that, will sell a whole lot beter even. I think this will steal a lot of sales from the Cayman/911.
Bleh, is alright, the steering is a bother and I tend to agree that @ 40k with a reasonable spec it would be extremely attractive. as it is I think I'll wait to see what happens with the Cayman.
If they can do this good a job on the boxter....
As an afterthought is it going to be possible to sort the steering out ? ie rip out the eletricamathingy and replaye with proper gubbins ?

Who is "Drive" that Chris says he is doing the video with?
I thought these were PH reviews?
Hmm
Dave
A little unusual I realise, but Chris is doing the video reviews for a US based Youtube only channel called "Drive." He writes exclusively for PistonHeads, so you'll always get a little bit of back story to the video here when it goes up on a Wednesday evening, and any accompanying longer reviews will appear exclusively here.I thought these were PH reviews?
