It is never a deciding factor for me, but if it is combined with a shoddy looking car with lots of undesirable mods and sketchy details then I draw my own conclusions. Not all people who can't use basic English (ie without a proper classical education) are complete knuckle dragging pond life, but it is certainly a reasonable indicator.

For me, who I buy a car off is as important as the visual condition of the car. There are enough used cars out there to be selective. I have occasionaly gone to see a car which appeals, but the advert is somewhat poorly conceived and invariably those preconceptions are correct. You even see dealers advertising £40k Porkers etc who cannot even spell a basic spec list that they must do every day of the week! It does not give you any confidence about their other abilities. When they haven't got the mental fortitude to use a spell check/dictionary, or enlist the help of somebody who can then what else have they made poor decisions on?!

Nb and before the grammar/punctuation police pick me up on any errors I have made, please be aware I am typing on a small, annoyingly predictive keyboard on the hoof!..and certainly would take a less slap-dash approach if I was formulating an advert!..

It screams inability to spell and computer illiteracy to me. Neither of which insinuate that he's unable to maintain a vehicle to a high standard, just that he can't spell and can't use a computer.

The thing that bugs me in adverts is when they start listing stuff that is standard, like seatbelts or electric windows on a DB9. Or when they just make up options or packs to sell the car and have no knowledge of the car and no interest to look into it. When I was looking at other ads to give me an idea of what my Mini was worth there were so many that advertised 'exterior chrome pack' when in fact they were referring to the standard chrome on the car and it didn't actually have the chrome line exterior. Or the standard 'no modifications, everything factory fitted' line, which when looking at the pictures is a straight up lie as half the things aren't factory options or standard equipment.

Anyhow, rant over. And plus I was so lazy with my advert that the car is for sale but I could never actually be bothered to put the ad up!
