Yes.

It's proof that a wing, a prayer and a bit of duct tape can get you a very long way indeed smile Only a crappy old Astra but there's no way this thing has any right to still be going, and yet it just soldiers on without fuss. As long as I keep on top of the bodywork (rust frown) it's got a load of life left in it (touch wood hehe). The only thing that could do with sorting is the suspension; really it's seen better days and is getting a little bit crashy.

When i first got my Dturb, i really liked it. 50p/ L veg oil, +50bhp free from diy tinkering..

This then manifested itself as HATE. Car got grumpy, threw it's dummy out several times on the m6 regarding coolant and boost pipes.. A non functional heater matrix made winter commuting fun. It's chewed threw 3 turbos in as many months... I've spent more time fixing it this past academic year than i have revising!

Now it's love. Several times i've come close to going back to a 330d or something else 'upmarket', i can afford it, sure.. But i get quite sad at the thought of selling my 306. It's got soo much character. I can fix anything on it myself very cheaply. It's bloody quick for what it is, especially running on mucky old oil. Most importantly it's fun. Even though this only accounts for 10% of the time i actually drive it as such, it makes up for the 90% spent commuting in an uncomfortable french tin!

New parts are on way to reach around 200bhp, no doubt bringing with it more 'character' but i welcome it, i actually now enjoy fixing it.. Albeit with a sledge hammer.. ! Think i'll still have it when i qualify =/

Bought my current daily driver (currently in Malaysia) through a belief that I'd be more able to keep a 28 year old BMW E30 running than some hateful piece of useless ste, as I'd be able to do most of the jobs myself having run an E32 for some years now.

Well, it hasn't disappointed and has certainly kept me busy... frown

Initially I thought I'd made a massive mistake as it was a bit of a nail. For the first week or two I hated it. But with some sorting and some new parts it's actually running pretty well now and I've grown to trust it, sort of... It's growing on me - not love yet, but when I want to be an arse and have some fun it's got enough oomph and handles nicely.

I do have to stop myself from treating it as a rolling restoration though - would be a really nice car with another few hundred quid thrown at it, but frankly that would be utterly pointless.

^^^ For the sake of only a few hundred quid I'd get it sorted. A nice e30 is getting more and more hard to come by.

Yes.

Missed my '97 Hilux, so got a '10 Hilux with all the bits I didn't like over the '97 (better auto box, petrol, leather, LSD, better stereo).

I love my daily road car (Range Rover) more than any other modern car I've ever owned. At the end of a long day it is like being welcomed into the bosom of an old friend.

I still love my car (MX-5) 18 months into owning it.

I still have a big, stupid smile all over my face at the end of each journey - even if it's a 40 mile motorway stint.
Christ, I have a great little euno's and wish I could get THAT excited about it!

Love them smile

I've a relaxed grand tourer in every sense of the word in my Schtag ... then I have the two MG's for B-road thrashing. I am looking to add a Triumph GT6 or TR6 into the equation as well ...
