You only need to turn the airbag off for rear facing infant seats don't you? I would have though a child on booster seat would be better off with an airbag than without.

My four year old loves to sit in the front of my Integra. In fact she insists on it! However I only started doing it when I thought she was old enough, as you can't turn the airbags off. I bought her a Recaro YoungSport when she was two, and should really convert it to booster 'mode' but I just can't bring myself to do it, because then it would just be a booster seat! She still fits in it nicely though, and in the event of the unthinkable, it will offer her some side protection.

Kids go in the front of my MGB GT but no airbags to worry about. Wife used to have an Almera and you couldn't switch the passenger airbag off in it.
