I got the small sample selection pack of dodo first and settled on rainforest, I quite like the purple haze but preferred the softer wax for quick applications.

I did the e90 couple of week ago but didnt clay, I think I know what I am doing tomorrow now!

What is the difference between all the Dodo waxes - they sure seem to have a lot ?
Surely a wax is a wax i.e. they only need one ?

its a clever system with a cool hip name designed to part those with OCD - obsessive fixation issues about cleaning cars from large chunks of cash

i use mer, it takes 15 mins to do a medium sized car, it comes off as easy as it went on and you get 2-3 months of strong water beading after its use

downside is its impossible to get of if its wet and you get white dust

im sure theres a modern version but i dont want to waste money finding out

im certainly not sad enough to spend 4 hours polishing my car biggrin

I had my S4 on show at the NEC for a couple of days as part of an audi owners club, i mer'd my car at the start, some of the guys where given zymol kits and spent the best part of a day with clay etc, i asked a couple of dozen random passers by which they thought was zymol, none could tell

Having used various waxes over the years including a number of different carnuba based products from Swissol, Dodo, Zymol and I can honestly say that unless you keep your car garaged or do lots of shows then they are not that good. The biggest issue I found for day to day cars is durability. None would last long enough to warrant the effort required. I remember spending an entire weekend polishing and waxing my M3. I applied one layer of Dodo Juice on Saturday, left it to cure for an hour or so and wiped off, the following day I did the same thing and the results were amazing. However within a month the beading had disappeared along with all the hard work.

I have found the best products for daily drivers are the synthetic products like NXT or Carlack 68. I applied Carlack 68 to the same car and it lasted months. Its much better to spend the time, effort and money in the cleaning and polishing.

Another vote for Autoglym HD wax here, not trendy, but I find it very easy to use and surprisingly long lasting.

clean your car site from memory smile

the key is prep . If you don't clay it won't bond as well and you end up with a finish that didn't last as long.

I tend get a car and clay it well once, seal it then put do do in as final finish. it's then easy to top

Still looks good if you don't clay and can't be bothered tho. The samples will do a good few coats if you fancy trying something different.

It's subjective and as per above some people don't see point or difference.

I do it because I love cars and get pleasure from taking dodgy paintwork to a lovely finish, each to their own smile

Which Carlack 68 product do you use?? Ive been looking for a new product recently, Ive got 2 red cars, a white car and a black car and would really like something for all of them. Only 2 of them are garages but the black and one red are always out in all weathers!!
Upto now we've used the 3 stage maguiars, using only stage one once per year, the stage 2 (polish) every month and the 3rd stage (wax) every other week but its not really lasted a decent time and the beading lasts about 3 seconds.

Autoglym HD Wax is great though it is petrochemical based so you can't build up layers (or so a pro detailer told me). It is good stuff though and leaves very little residue.

I have used Dodo Juice Orange Crush and it is rather good.

I currently have a Jar of Dodo Juice Supernatural, OK so it cost £70 for the pot but it lasts ages (at the current rate of consumption (~six coats per year) I think I'll get around 6 years out of the pot - good value imho) applied with a bare hand and buffed off with a microfibre cloth it gives a fantastic and long lasting finish.

If you have never iron-x'd your car, you might want to try that once too

gets all sorts of little bits of metal off that you otherwise might not know are even there!

I think Autobrite sell it at their unit but that won't help if you're not in Stoke..

Apart from that, I don't think they really do retail...

Being on the stand next door at the Autosports show year before last not close enough for you biggrin - I picked up fresh stock there myself

I know they do a lot of shows during the year but as far as shop retail goes I guess Domster would be the one in the know
