There are council houses to be bought for open legged crackhead single mothers.

Not that it affects me but what I find difficult to understand is that revenues have been presumably increased through increased VAT on higher oil prices.

Is this rise to take account of inflation or is it a fake 'green' tax?

I wonder if the people that voted for this mob are happy about them reneging on their promise not to view the motorist as a cash cow?

How many more callouts will the AA/RAC have from people running out of fuel due to not being able to afford it from this?

And the goverment wonder why they are so unpopular. As much as I disliked Gordon brown I would quite hapily have him back just for the 17.5% VAT rate.

Did you honestly expect a drop in fuel price?

And for that reason I'm very glad it's only your opinion.

I'll not bother stating where you can stick it.

I'm with MissChief on this - indulging in products harmful to health which will cost the state-run medical facilities money should be taxed more highly than they are.

p.s. Aggressive much?

We are already paying £5 a pack everyday for future cancer treatments and burden on the NHS. Possibly those that never worked a day in their miserable life should pay something into the pot, castration on the NHS is a betetr idea

Maybe if the Tories didnt do their usual of handing billions back to the rich and business they could afford to drop the fuel tax a bit for normal people? Just a thought.

This 3p rise should've never been planned but when it was it looked unlikely they'd back down. Since Parliament agreed they need to bring fuel prices down, the actual price of fuel has risen so surely the Treasury is making back their 'lost' money through VAT? Its interesting how the mass media neglects to mention that VAT exists on fuel.

The other point of course is if this price results in less fuel being sold then the Treasury wont gain anything anyway. All pretty pointless but was inkeeping with a very poor budget.

Maybe they should actually give less to the poor? You know, just give them food stamps or something instead of cash?

They obviously can't be trusted with the stuff. Give an unemployed person actual real money and they will only spend it on fuel, Sky TV and fags anyway. Benefits. Damned right they benefit.

I'm a mug for going out and earning my £££.

I agree with this. I drink and smoke once in a blue moon..

It would also cut the Medical overheads this country suffers from.
