I know it is now totally irrelevant seeing as decision has been made but am I not the only one who would have thought, ok, not too much bother paying early and having the courtesy car, if it makes them happy they'll be more likely to be helpful in the future? I try and stay on good terms with all my car dealers as you never know what will happen in the future that they might be able to help you out with.
You do know that dealers do actually fold don't you? It's nothing to do with being unreasonable, it's called protecting your interests.

I am actually?

Why would you abuse some one else's property, and pass on some potential mechanical issues to a new owner?

No more swearing from me, but perhaps a constructive answer from yourself?

Oh, and I am not your buddy.

I thank you.

I wouldnt, hence me saying Im not exactly being serious. So you are trying to start an argument with me based on nothing.

Oh, and I thought that due to your swearing at me, I thought we were on good terms, hence me calling you buddy.

Ahhh..... Bugger!!!!

Apologies, if I have got you wrong then, I thought you were being serious! My fault.

The complete, "Hire cars (I know it is a loan car) are the fastest cares ever" is a bit of a piss boiler, as these quickly end up back with the private owners, who possibly pick up the pieces..?

Any way.. beersmile

No worries, the internet is full of misunderstanding!
I agree by the way, anything borrowed should be treated well.

The original poster didn't seem concerned about that being an issue, all he was after was something for himself (a discount or whatever). I have insurance (as do many others I'm sure) on my debit card anyway so would be protected if that situation arose.

I'm not sure (in fact I'm very unsure!) I'd want to trust these sorts of sums to the interpretation of small print on a debit card insurance policy (do you mean credit card?). Not too clever...

But they are the fastest! hehe

Ok Ok - only joking!

In all seriousness, I am glad the OP is exercising caution. My buying experience from BMW was disasterous - (car sold to someone else on day we were collecting, next car complete dog etc), but the dealer principal did say when they never fk up with a number of customers, they royally fk up with one person!
I go with the notion they are a business, and unlikely to really do me a favour out of love! Cynical? Maybe.

The bank I use for stuff like car buying would definitely insure me over something like this, perhaps has something to do with the relationship I have with my bank and the type of bank it is. I wouldn't say it was an enormous risk myself.

Fair enough. But have you ever made a 30k claim? It's funny how good relationships fall apart when you're asking for cold hard cash.

Holy crap! Really? yikes

I want an account with your bank as hey appear to be jolly decent chaps who look out for the interest of their customers at their own expense.

I work in finance (particularly long term relationships), we would defend such payouts VERY rigorously. It wouldn't be a lot of fun.....

IT's fortunately not a service I have ever been in need of but I like to know it is there. Customer service is their speciality.

OP, have you walked away from the deal and got your deposit back then?
