Has anyone done this recently?

I'm looking to rent a 911 for ten days in September preferably to pick up and return to somewhere near Frankfurt.

I vaguely remember seeing them on the Hertz website when I was looking at the end of last year but can't find them on there now.

Can anyone recommend a hire firm to do this, I'm not looking to spank it around the Ring, just ten days touring Germany something as a treat to myself for turning past another decade on this fine planet.

If not a 911, something enjoyable to drive without being totally wallet bursting would be good. Is there a German equiv of Avis Prestige?

Thanks.

(p.s Looking for a newish one, not a classic)

I know for sure Avis Prestige do Porsche rentals out of Dusseldorf, so they should do them out of other airports. Last time I went, there were 997 S's available to rent

Thanks Fas, just looked at Avis again and there is a Prestige tab alongside the normal cars.

£1800 for ten days.

In the details though it says the 2nd credit card must be a Diners or AMEX card neither of which I have. Not a bad start though cheers.

Another thing that is not fun about the Avis ones is the 200km per day limit. Extra kms are not cheap either.

I've always wanted to do it but the cost and free km limit are prohibitive.

Ah, I didn't know that. That rules them out, I did look at the details on their site but there doesn't seem to be a mention of mileage allowance.

I rented an Audi TT-S from Avis in the Uk and that was mileage free.
