Saw one near Chiddingfold. Amazing machine. On start up it shook the gas station forecourt. Great sight!

Was it a genuine Shelby AC Cobra 427?? There were only about 27 built (I think), so I doubt it was the real deal.

No shame in it though. I'm not sure I could spot a genuine one. Some of the replicas are brilliant

I saw one today aswell. I'm wondering if it's the same one as I live about an hour away from Chiddingfold. Was it a bluey purple without the strips and non side exhausts?

If it was a 1962 car that predates the 427 by 3 years.

The Cobra I saw is a replica built by Soutern Roadcraft.

A proper Cobra replica needs side exhausts! I think side mounted also helps with clearance for speed bumps smile

Mr Evans lives just along the road.

Popping into the Crown for a swift half?

This one was white/cream. If it was a replica it was a very very good one. The noise was epic. Never heard any V8 like it. Made my old 450 Chim sound like a toy

He owns the Mulberry which is next door the gas station. I didn't pay any attention to the driver although he was a ginger. 6 or 7 year old boy in passenger seat was having fun. I held my car door open so my wife could hear it. I was told to shut the door...bloody racket!
