Superb car with incomparable materials and build quality, all that and a great investment financially to boot! Brilliant.

what was the ebay steal how much ?

and how many miles has it done ?
He ain't saying on the price I'm afraid. But going by the grin on his face - as mentioned in the caption but witnessed first hand - I think it was an amazing deal as the vendor hadn't put a reserve on it and, for whatever reason, there weren't any other bidders. To his credit he honoured the deal and let Fredy have the car at the highest bidder price.

And it's done 124,000km.
happy days ebay can be a curse

but sometimes you do get a steal

bought a coffe table worth 500£ for 75£ on the wknd

haha totally off subject and not as cooler deal as a alpina but still mighty satisfying

Anything less than £12k for a car in that condition would be regarded by me as a steal. I've owned mine since 2001 and it's the most accomplished all round GT there is - congrats, you'll love it.

EPIC!

One of my all-time dream cars.

I agree - the E34 is definitely one of the best BMWs ever built.

A true icon.

Well done for realising your dream. Look after her and cherish her FOREVER!

Unless I've missed something in the article, has he actually driven this car yet!? Or was the article written a while ago and only published today?

It was only just registered a few days ago. Fredy bought it in the depths of winter, classic 'selling a summer car in winter' bargain. And here in Germany you pay per month on taxes etc... so he only put it 'on plates' last week. One of the first things we did was the photos! Since then he's been giving the car more opportunity to stretch its metaphorical twin-turbo legs... winkdriving

Article says, "I've driven it for 20 miles so far".

Later it says, "Blasting this beast down the Autobahn at an indicated 300km/h-plus is just priceless!"

300 plus / 20 miles ?! Brings a whole new meaning to "Just nipping down to the shops"...

Wonderful. The car itself isn't so important in this story - the pride the owner has from owning it is. thumbup

Lovely to hear!

I've owned prod. no. 360 for four years. What an amazing car; a legend of its time. May be a bit dull in city traffic but a true super car (with 4 doors) when the road opened up. It was particularly in its elements when storming the autobahn. I still hear the Wastegates whooshing in my ears after a decade since I've sold it. smile) Enjoy it in good health!

BTW, I still have some memorabilia, books and period magazines related to it if you're interested in them.

mmmm must stop dribbling....

What a supurb machine, rare as hens teeth. Love these cars, ever since 1989 when i was a nipper and my dad had a red e34 530i. Can only imagine what the biturbo would be like. Definitely one for the lottery stable for me.

Enjoy!

Incredibly, ultimately, incorrigbly cool.

A fine purchase. I've been perusing the E39 Alpinas for some time, but would really love one of these beasties. Enjoy it, it's nice to see in the days of eco-weenies and diesels ruling the roads that someone's dedicated enough to realise their dream. True petrolhead. smile
