OH = 1.6 Twingo RS
Me = 1.8 MX5

We still have FWD vs RWD arguments, discuss the merits of all cars as they go by and she'll happily go to any form of motorsport with me cloud9

SportKA.

It was going to be an Abarth 500 but it fell off the ramp before the sale was complete.

She's got a tango orange Punto Sporting. It's actually a cracking car and useful to have something fuel efficient in the family. Before that she had a 1.7 Puma. Very fortunate that she loves cars and quite often borrows my Peugeot to do tunnel runs in like a massive chav.

She thinks the Exige is awesome but still wishes I'd got a TVR as they sound better. No pleasing some folk...

She's driving a golf gti currently, which she hates. She keeps talking about getting an Integrale, and sooner or later heart will win out and we'll end up with one working vehicle and a beautiful Italian ornament.

Her previous has included the obligatory mx5 and Impreza WRX.

Eventually she's aiming for a Cobra replica.

When my wife, then girlfriend, announced she was going to learn to drive back in 2004, i had my heart setting on buying 'her' an Audi S3 to complement my Peugeot 307 diesel estate company car.

As it happened she wanted a shiny new red car and being young at the time, budgets dictated and so it was a Kia Picanto 1.0 GS. Brand new - not much more than £5k - i knew the dealer.

Then 4 years later, along came the baby, then another, then another - and during that breeding period she upsized to a Renault Megane Grand Scenic 1.6, which does what it says on the tin, and suits her needs nicely.

She wants a Qashqai next.

Just to add - we've never really shared cars. One has always been mine and one hers - despite the fact both are paid for by our joint bank account.

Both cars have always been vastly different. Mine have always tended to be diesels, and either a lot quicker or a lot bigger - i.e. Peugeot 307 vs Kia Picanto or Grand Scenic vs Ibiza Cupra TDI and have been fairly need-specific - i.e. big miles vs big family.

I'd like the idea of coming out of the house in a morning and picking which car to use for work.

Saying that, with the mileage i do, i'd probably take the older car if given the choice and give the wife the newer car for doing less miles in.

Me: 987 Boxster S
Her: Mini Cooper Sidewalk (convertible) but it would've been my old S2000 if she'd had it her way

Not sure we could justify 2 2 seater cars in the family!

I run a 118d coupe (cheap company car) and the wife a 335d.
In practice one is a family car the other just to get 30 miles up and down the M1 each day.

I may have had a hand in its original purchase, but she's had it for nearly 5 years now and loves it. Only an R8 would tempt her away, except we cant afford that!

Its a bloody good car in every way and the most reliable car I've ever come across. Only consumables required in all that time.

A real high point in Honda's car making history IMO.
