Hmmmmm double the miles of the 230 I am planning to view later and dark wood inserts (she wont like them) but still http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2012...
That ones got the nicest style of 16 inch OE alloys - bit leggy mileage wise for me I tend to buy at just under 100K and then never sell firman said:
Or a little lower budget and perhaps not her fave colour but still http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2012...
Right miles cheap and has the machined finish dash which I like - saw too many silver ones and there are 4 silver ones local to me so as I couldn't find a white one black was my next choiceRegarding the wood - it could always be swapped out on the other one the bash trims often come up on evilbay
For some reason in my last post it linked to the wrong car, should have been this http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2012...
Still a bit over 100k but as we will only be putting 5k'ish a year on I think I would take the risk

Becoming a headache now! Been ordered to drop in and have a look at this in the morning as I drive past the place on the out on delivery every day. Keep your eyes peeled for the topic titled 2.5 Porsche Boxster advice needed.
Ask away - I replaced my wife's 320 with a 2.5 Boxster!RESSE said:

Seems I was having a real internet for beginners day yesterday as I forgot to link to the Boxster. Ebay item number is 260967838804 should anyone be interested.Had a quick look in the flesh this morning and it looks alright, 90,000 on the clock but just feels it lack the refinement of the SLK with the material roof and plastic back window and such. What do I need to be watching for when I view it properly later

The replacement for the SLK if I replace it will be a Z4 with the folding roof (if I don't scratch the TVR itch before then)

If you want refinement in a Boxster you need the later (late 2002 on) version with the double lined hood and glass window. They are actually quieter at speed than the SLK era you are looking at.
Thought this would be the case, never going to find a 2.7 facelift model within the £5k budget though unless it is really leggyfirman said:

Condition of roof/rear window (most early cars will (probably) have had the plastic rear window replaced with either 1). new plastic window or 2). facelift roof with glass rear window).
We had a 60,000 mile service on our 1999 Tiptronic 2.5 a few weeks ago and apart from a few sundries the following jobs were done (needed to be done):
Air con condenser.
Rear tyres.
Stone chips on front bumper.
Repainted the louvres/vents in front bumper.
Engine misfire - air mass sensor.
Filters (various).
Sun visor - comes as one piece and the driver's side retaining spring/hinge was broken (£124.22).
Suspension bushes.
Also seats get a bit of wear and tear and the pixels/lcd (?) display on the digital climate control can fade.
Boxster is very different to the SLK, but not in a bad way, just different.

Good grief I didn't realise the Boxter had dropped into my reach - ruled it out when I was looking on cost and fabric roof grounds

There are a few dropping into a decent price range now, thing is with this one I know it has been sat at the place selling it for easily 4 months. I didn't even realise it was for sale as it didn't have a window price. Would be looking to get it for less than £4.5k If at allThe replacement for the SLK if I replace it will be a Z4 with the folding roof (if I don't scratch the TVR itch before then)
A little left field here BUT as you're considering a CLK more for cruising than 'sportiness' have you considered a CLK in a frock, aka a Crossfire? same oily bits but different clothes - waaaay better value than either of the other 2 mentioned on here - though if you are 100% about a convertable they are only a single-skin fabric roof which may put you off

I had wodered if this option would be mentioned, I am just not sure if I could live with the looks and interior build quality. I am not even so keen on the boxster as I don't feel the fabric roof will be any better motorway wise than the fabric roof glass rear window MX5 it is to replace. Viewed another today and it showed its miles fairly badly, just wish people would be more honest with descriptions.
Another viewing tomorrow, this time it is this one http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3616693.htm so fingers crossed

Outside its looks lovely...inside, its erm, hideous! I couldn't live with that interior. I know its all about personal taste, but thats not for me.Another viewing tomorrow, this time it is this one http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3616693.htm so fingers crossed
If you or the OH could live with it though, it looks like quite a nice well care for example!
(Nice to see someone actually washing their car for selling pics for a change!)

The one we viewed today had the 2 tone interior but with wood and it wasnt great but I think with the aluminium inserts its much better. Nicer in the flesh than in pics. If you or the OH could live with it though, it looks like quite a nice well care for example!

The one we viewed today looked spotless in the pics but it seems they were taken in September when they took the car in and not washed since, not even when they knew potential buyers wanted to view it.
