I drive very slowly over speedbumps.
I have 3 stickers on my lowered VW.

Do I have to leave Pistonheads?

No, just ignore them, I'm not a huge fan of VW's or the Dub scene but I am far from a hater (I'm just not into VW's) but I can't understand the hatred and snobbery at the end of the day you like what you like and thats that.

In my Cooper S I have to go slowly over bumps otherwise it scrapes. It is unreasonably low for an unmodified car! It does piss me off when people come right up to my bumper/flash lights/horn etc...I'm not going quicker and scraping my car up just so you can get where you're going a few seconds quicker, moron.

I think it's intended for the majority who don't slow down for speed bumps and get frustrated when others that have some mechanical sympathy do.
Or those who have lowered their car to the point that they can barely get over speedbumps or across small potholes?

There is mechanical sympathy then there is putting your car so low that it can't handle British roads.

Or they should fix the censored roads so there are no pot holes. I drive a standard Elise. My cd player skips constantly on some of the roads I drive down

FTR I'm not a 'hater' (well as it happens I do mildly dislike the term 'hater' outside of its original context, but... I'm not anti-modding is what I'm trying to say). It's like doodling in a photocopy of the mona lisa - sure you're unlikely to improve things, but you're hardly ruining anything of note, so whilst I might think something is st, very little will make me think "I wish you hadn't bothered in the first place". Far rather have a titter at a crap mod than stare at a boring econobox kept stock for insurance/resale purposes (aka... my car). Agree with honestherbert, cars should be about having fun and individuality, as long as there's no harm done.

I was just wondering whether the sticker in question was due to the owner a) being completely unaware of the irony of applying a mod that originated as a motorsport affectation and making their car slow enough to potential annoy other road users as a result, b) it was a suprisingly self-deprecating joke (most of the car stickers I've seen are of the 'eat my dust' variety), or c)it was either a reference to something else entirely, or I've completely mistaken the origins of the lowering fad.

I hate speed bumps. I slow down to sub 10mph in the Panda, which is standard because it kills your back taking them at any speed in them.

Saw this plastered on a lowered VW (can't remember which) a few days ago. Am I interpreting this right, that it's got a sticker warning people that it's slow because it's been modified in a way that's supposed to improve performance, and thus can't handle potholes/speed bumps anymore? Is this a massive sense of irony deficiency? Or a deliberate joke? I'm confused...
Ferrari build cars in a way thats supposed to improve performance, and thus can't handle potholes/speed bumps.

Just because the car came from the factory with speed bump munching suspension doesn't mean its ruined due to suspension that is favored towards handling not speed bump passing ability being fitted.

Are you trying to claim that your spelling is so bad that Firefox only semi corrects it?

There are people who can be bothered to learn how to spell and people who can't.

The latter usually claim to be dyslexic.rolleyes

Went to a dyno day recently with about 20-30 utterly slammed Cooper S'.

On the way to the RR there were quite a lot of speedbumps, suffice to say it took quite a while to clear 30 sump-scraping-stance-mobiles!

You don't seem to learn, do you. This is exactly the same kind of behaviour that caused your 'inability to make friends' on the EVO forum. Are you depressed, perhaps? Tested on the autism spectrum, maybe?
