They slow people like me down from driving at the speed limit and obeying road rules.
What does that even mean? Are you really trying to say that the way to "obey road rules" is to drive exactly at the speed posted on the red-ringed lollypop? Or are you referring to that other road rule, the one I found at the bottom of my first provisional license if I recall correctly ("Tear along dotted line")?
No.

You know what I mean, surely?.

I drive to the speed limit as long as conditions or hazards permit.

As you will see, I drive at the speed limits AND obey road rules. At no point did I state constant speed limit journeys were obeying rules in the context you were trying to suggest I meant.

Speed bumps = hazard.

Simple. Slow down to go over them, drive WITHIN the LIMIT, not AT the LIMIT.

Which is what I've just said.

To the OP its a current trend that originates from the dub scene, which Im sure you already knew!!

However some of the views on this thread are pathetic, let the people get on with it, they slow down no more than a ferrari or other boring generic supercar would.

Cars are about being individual and having fun in my eyes, which is exactly what these guys are doing,so no harm done.

Perhaps one should save the "special needs school" insults for when one is able to master such basics as spelling... So rude.

In actual fact, aren't you the same guy branded as a "cretin" and a "troll" by the vast majority of posters on the Evo forum?

i am dyslexic i do not deny this, i also get a perverse pleasure from upsetting the small minded grammer police

there are a few posters on here who lambaste others for daring to have a different opinion to there own, they certainly like you do not know what a troll is.

You still playing the dyslexic card, Dave? Whatever happened to just being thick?

I saw a couple of Dubs on the M4 last week. There was quite obviously no attempt at improving speed or handling but sat in the traffic, their owners seemed to love them.

i went to a private school so i got to be dyslexic, the comprehensive lot where thick biggrin

yep its annoying to have to play the mental deficiency card but there are so many pious grammer police it seams an inevitability, which is quite humorous since language is fluid and ever changing.

i have no doubt dubbers love there cars, its just an alien concept to me, i can relate to the many owners on here who have quite amazing modifications like Jamie's superbly insane supra or even the nuts and bolts rebuild red fiesta that's ongoing in the readers car area. Red Victor is just so amazing it goes beyond my comprehension.

but to me to trash the way a car drives just to achieve a look is baffling.

What do you consider 'properly'? I didn't purposely do a Daily Mail edit BTW.
Well I don't want to start throwing figures around but a subtle stretch maybe 10mm in from the rim edge and properly rolled arches.
When people go to extremes and start running 15deg of negative camber then I agree it looks wk and probably compromises handling.

I know people who have something like that on the back window of whatever they drive. Its just on as a bit of a laugh.

Me personally dont have anything like that because my car rides at a standard rideheight BUT due to the modifications done to it i have to slow right down for some speedbumps because when the back end comes off them the car comes back down on its suspension hard and self leveling shocks are not cheap for my pointless vehicle

Overtaking on a backstreet, over speed-bumps?

Presumably a street full of parked cars, and with kids around, my hero. bow
Not round here they're not, the roads with parked cars up both sides and kids around don't seem to have them, yet several of the wide roads with very few pedestrians seem to ahve them. Weird

To me, to criticise someone else's education while displaying all the hallmarks of educational deficiency in oneself, is baffling.

IF the car is lowered, he/she is probably fed up with people "pushing" him/her to go faster over speed bumps...

I had my Elise lowered to 60 F/70 R, while it was great for the handling, it forced me to slow down to nearly standstill and cross any speed bump as sideways as possible, not to ruin the C/F front splitter (motorsport clam). Quite often to the disliking of the cars behind me...
If you have to negotiate speed bumps like this regularly than frankly it's just stupidity to lower your car to the point that you can no longer easily drive over them.

It's hardly inevitable; if you know your spelling is appalling then use a spell checker. Producing something that looks like a cat has walked across the keyboard and then playing the "dyslexic" card is lazy.

i do use a spellchecker, Firefox has one built in, you should see it before correction ...

I always slow for speed humps if 5mph isn't quick enough then bcensoreds - I'd rather not risk taking a lump out of my car as it bounces over the thing.

I have raised my car up since I bought it, it was lowered nearly two inches I lifted it an inch it doesn't scrape the exhaust any more!.
