So we have someone in the position of being disabled .

Asking for some honest advice .

Result.

Some very good advice from people who KNOW what they are talking about

Insults.

Mis infomation from idiots .

And the usual idiots who think that any one who is disabled and on any type of benefit should be taken out at dawn and disposed of so they do not offend the hard working few that think all their taxation pays for the O.P. to drive .

Got a source for that figure?

Think every person who gets DLA doesn't work or doesn't contribute to this country?

Think that people with severe or profound disability, and/or terminal illess shouldn't be supported to live a basic, decent quality life?

'screwing hard working people out of...'

That really is a load of offensive bullst. I'm not sure why I've just wasted 5 minutes of my life even responding to this. You're a pillock.
I think the word disability should be used more scarcely in today's society. Having to use a walking stick and a bad back doesn't mean you are in the same boat as someone who was blown up by bomb.

I'm sorry that you feel like I'm talking about you, maybe that says something ?
It's a pretty clear-cut term as far as DLA goes: you qualify for the higher rate of the mobility component if you are unable, or virtually unable to walk - that means if you can't do at least 100m without suffering severe pain or other significant problems.

I'm not in the same boat as someone who was blown up by a bomb; most of the survivors are much more mobile with a far better long-term prognosis than me.

Personally I find the Scirocco a bit odd in the looks department and the GTC is a very different drive to the Hatch so I'd get the Vauxhall. Most VW's I have driven have been bland.

Ignoring the same people who have had Motability explained to them on other threads and have chosen to igore the facts, what about a 1 series, or how about a nice car for your back the Volvo V60?

As for people driving around with poor eyesight, how many do you think are "able" people, who have the wrong prescriptions in their glasses, or those with failing eyesight who dont have to submit to eyesight tests at 65?

Do you honestly think he would be allowed to drive if his sight was that bad?

We don't know what impairment he has so lets not (again) jump to conclusions.
We must've forgot people with bad eyes cant drive fast... rolleyes

Yes fair enough but the OP has stated that he has MS, which i know very very well that it is a disability.

ITs a what car thread not a discussion on motability itself so let the guy get his advice...

If you dont agree with motability then fk off out the motability threads.

OP. What has ruled another Mini out of your choice this time round? The two on your list aren't very comfy and presumably you've enjoyed your Mini to date?

A proper KJ or Troll.
I hate the scum that exploit the Motability charity, but undereducated, judgemental tcensoredts like this are the main reason why I don't frequent PH so often these days.

I have no problem with people getting hand outs, it's what makes people great. If they need it, they get it. I do have a problem with people getting more than they need though, no matter how ill you are you dont need a nice car imo. You need one that suits a purpose and for me thats to help get people mobile, give them Independence, give them a normal life. We need to do this as cheap as possible, handing out nice cars isn't a fair way of doing it imo.

If feeling this way makes me a bad person, im at peace with that biggrin
This.

If its on the tax payer, it should be function over fashion.

What can either of those cars do that a base model focus can't?

I also don't understand why they have to be brand new and not 5 years old. But that's a whole other thing.

Methinks that Agoogys post was one laced with a heady dose of sarcasm.

Go and find me evidence that the tax payer pulls out more to fund a Scirocco than to fund a Fiesta.

If you do that then I'll agree with you and your pals from the ignorant and stupid society. I'm shocked that people as bright as you have time to post on the internet between tweeting about celebrities and queuing for petrol.

I did actually have to put some diesel in the van on Wednesday. Felt like a right muppet queueing up at 9pm in the middle of nowhere. paperbag
