Aaargh, this is my pet hate. Because of where I live, I have to pay £100/month for underground parking which is still a couple of minutes walk from my flat but at least it's secure.

The very first time my M3 was parked outside for a few hours in the evening, nice pub in the country, the bonnet and door handles were covered in cream or something similar. Glad it wasn't anything worse but I am now completely paranoid frown

Found my car like this one day. Seems to be a common occurrence on my street. Fortunately it's only an old Focus and I've managed to stick it back together with gaffer tape.

Can pick up a new one off eBay or from a scrappy fairly cheap but it'd only happen again.

I've had wing mirror glass smashed. Whole wing mirror forcibly removed (by person not a car hitting it, it was pavement side). Keyed on 2 panels. Van hit and run while parked on the street. Wife's car has quite a collection of key marks. s!

At least it wasn't brake fluid! I know someone who had that done, they did every car parked outside their row of houses.

The girlfriend had every panel on her GTV V6 keyed a few months back. She's certainly not upset or fallen out with anyone so it's a bit of a mystery as to why someone would do it to her car.

My money is either on some tree hugging hippy who disapproved of the engine size, a misinformed scrote who thinks that the car actually carries some sort of value or the Narcissistic piece of st who has tried everything in his power to split my family apart.

Either way, should they do it for a 3rd time the security cameras will pick it up and then I'll find out precisely who is doing it.

I've had that happen twice, luckily only to old sheds parked on side streets in Oxford and Cambridge. Were you in a university city by any chance?
Yes, how did you guess hehe (I was a student at the time, but not a )

Someone walked from front to back on my Legacy estate once and my old £200 Escort had both it's wing mirrors smashed off in the night. Both cars were parked outside my house and were probably done because morons couldn't understand why someone would spend so much time polishing piles of crap (but they were MY piles of crap).

I have CCTV now.

Don't think I've ever had any damage, touch wood.

I came back to my car the other week to find a Mondeo 1ft away from the driver's door - I had to wind the window down and pretty much drop down through that to get into my car.

I had a big look at the door but couldn't see any dings. Anyway, took me a couple of minutes to squeeze myself in - and I'm bloody thin.

2 minutes before I drove off, a HUGE woman came back to her car - fk knows how she'd ever managed to get out (was facing opposite direction to mine, so driver's doors were both together). Can only think she must have climbed over to the pax side, but god knows why.

Never any intentional damage though.

I had both wing mirrors kicked off of my 206 multiple times, a wing mirror stolen from the Series III, oh and someone painted a face on the side of the Series III but luckily I had a paint roller and some leftover Dulux to cover it up.

I can only presume Lone Wolf McQuade in the big truck in front had a moment!

He drove slowly over a sleeping policeman, saw a friend driving the other way (I stopped before the hump!) he reversed back over the hump to talk to said friend and I was backed up onto, rather like a boy scout onto a priest (no denomination added or inferred!).

When I was at uni someone tried picking up my 2CV by the rear bumper and bent it up over the boot lid. They also rotated the headlights so they pointed backwards.

The 2CV that parked next to me that night had the roof slashed and everthing inside it thrown all over the place. I suppose they would have done my roof too, but mine had nothing inside it except the two front seats.

We never parked next to each other again, and it never happened again. I'm still annoyed about it, and it's been 20 years.

My MX5 has the bumpers cable tied on (it used to be a drift competition car so it's built to clip walls and stuff without breaking anything expensive - the cable ties shear and the bumper moves away from whatever you've hit without getting damaged). Quite often if I park it on a street I'll find the bumper hanging on the floor, which I hope gives a nasty shock to whoever hits it.

Feck. You NEVER see one of those without rear end damage do you? Totally incompatible with urban living.
That's a tricky insurance claim if they chose to dispute it- "He reversed into me!" "yeah right!"

Luckily, McQuades intended conversation was with another friend of mine who was willing to vouch for me if it all went a bit oval.

Some anus banged a massive dent into the wing of my car and just drove off. I'd love to go round to their house and break all the things they care about. fking prick.

Iv had this happen numerous times:

First car some smashed the wing in over night, some has hit my rear bumper again whilst parked, iv had mirrors kicked off too (both sides) and my car keyed once.

The most annoying thing by far is when someone parks on your car, as in no gap between your bumper and theirs and literally leaves it like that mad

Had only owned the car for about 30hours and was only parked up for 2 hours while I was in a lecture at Uni... came back to find my car like this. No note, no CCTV and no witnesses.

Oh and I also had some 4x4 chump reverse into my drivers side door a few years back at Treliske Hospital. Unsurprisingly, I was not at the car and he/she did not leave their details. No excuse as it was a big enough 'spare wheel' print on my door for the driver to have felt the jolt.

Oh, and where was I? In the hospital having my daughter admitted for two weeks for IV antibiotics for the first time. All in all, not a great day.

My car got hit by a hit & run drink driver - it was 4ft away from the pavement on my drive at the time.

Reported to police next morning, witness had reported driver hiting silver BMW, police looked at another silver BMW parked on the road & couldn't find any damage - they didn't think to look at mine parked on the driveway.

Driver was found trying to change tyre, prosecuted & let his insurers deal with my repairs.
