We've all seen them. Some supercar in the motorway, being driven at 67mph in the centre or inside lane. With me in the outside lane at Mach1 in a car I'm to embarressed to mention. The question is, why do they bother?
How else will they drive from place to place? If the helicopter breaks down you are allowed to use motorways, but only if you are within 10% of the maximan speed of the car, otherwise people in tedious cars don't get a free show.
Unless it's the butler going out to fill it with petrol - they aren't allowed to speed.
There is a white (read mud) GTR that gets on the m4 at swindon some days.. He knows how to use that power, slip road to the 3rd lane in under a second (or so).. whoosh.. feels like my Megane Sport has broken the turbo or something..
It shifts for sure, and the noise as BMW's/Audi's move out the way is excellent.

Getting the dullest part of the journey out of the way?
Given the fact that motorways are heavily congested these days I tend to arrive at more or less the same time if sit there doing 70mph as I would at 85. The main difference being I haven't had to accelerate, brake hard, accelerate and deal with cretins driving underpowered diesel stboxes. Not that I drive a supercar but the point remains the same.

Ok Mr. Aston Martin... I bet the GTR's would give you a little scare! (I have no idea if that is the case, I just know they are rapid...)
I'm sure they would, but I'd rather be in an Aston than a Nissan no matter how fast it may be. The Aston isn't a supercar either btw, it's a GT. The Nissan is just a sports car (albeit a fast one).jas xjr said:

beating the eta on the sat-nav ? If you're not in a rush you can always play get your sat nav lost. That's good fun.

I agree with that. For starters you could meet strangers and start all conversations with 'I drive an Aston Martin by the way'... That I would LOVE to do.Instead it's, 'I drive a Mondeo'.. doesn't have the same appeal.
