Do you drive a cleaner car slower?

Bit of a random thought this. I had my car valeted today, looks the best it has ever looked. On the drive home I realised I was in much less of hurry and drove much slower than usual, I do the same after I wash it myself too, I continue to do so until the car is dirty then drive quicker again. Anyone else do this? I don't mean driving slower to avoid getting dirty, just generally take more care over the way they drive, let more cars out at junctions and stuff. Anyone, or am I alone in this?

Yes

and i hardly ever wash my car so drive like my trousers are on fire most of the time

Must admit ive been a real geek in the past & drove a clean car slower, so i didnt get any dead flys on the front & windscreen & drove slower to help prevent brake dust on my wheels!

This doesnt happen nowadays, only washed the cerbera last week & it hadnt been cleaned since last october before that, so my OCD has disappeared thankfully.

I hadn't given it much thought until now, but yeah, I tend to drive a bit less 'arse on fire' after I've cleaned mine.

Also a clean car passes an MOT easier.

I have always thought this too, but surely it cant make any difference, i always clean mine for MOT time though.

I do this. My theory is that I only clean it on a slow weekend, and I find it a mindless task, quite relaxing. Therefore I am more relaxed when I am driving it and it shows in my approach to my drive.

Not just me then it seems. Mine rarely gets cleaned too. I never get a day off to do it, hence paying someone to do it today, it previous looked like I'd been drifting around muddy fields, which isn't all that far from the truth. I've also noticed I get the best MPG from a clean car.
