If you use the paddles in the Polo, you'll hate the manual buttons/splapstick in this.
I do use the paddles a lot. I'm guessing the SLK 55 has the same steering wheel as my R230 SL 350, and my dad's old SL55 that I used to drive when he still lived in the UK, so it has the buttons on the back of the wheel. They are pretty crap but I'd get used to it.

I'm trying to work out if having 3 cars with the smallest engine being a 5.5 V8 is a good idea for my bank balance though! laugh

Had a bright, lime green VW Scirocco R pass me on the A3(M) into Portsmouth this morning, as the car ahead of him in L2 moved over, this thing was gone! Looked so good in my mirrors as it approached, lights on. Last week in Portsmouth itself a Rising Blue R DSG shot out from the lights under the railway at Gunwharf Quays and left past me at full chat, sounded great, especially with it 'Woofle-ing' from the exhausts on upshifts...

That blue one looks epic!

Now......classifieds.

Well, there's that and the fact that the car has to mull over your request with a glass of port in a wing backed armchair before deciding Granted/Denied either way, and if you use the stick, it's side to side, got the feeling that my Gandma's old (08) SLK was just like 'yeeaaah whatever' when pressing on... DSG/S-Tronic on the other hand is like 'oh, you waned a change, check again bozo, I gave it you yesterday'. hehe

I love Rising Blue, but I don't know which I'd rather have, they both look that good, think I'd be tempted by the green to be different.

I've been hankering after the e46 M3 CS in Interlagos Blue and a B7 Audi RS4 Saloon in
Daytona Grey.

I really want one from these two, just havent been able to make up my mind which one yet! so the obsession with reading up on these cars will continue for the time being! biggrin

Lovely things to drive but after a few miles I'm not sure you'd be so impressed with the 'lovely inside', it seems to still have the Lotus 'character' thing going on!

this today, & since saturday actually which is pretty dangerous.

i know from certain angles they look a little awkward, & they aren't that fast but as a daily driver & for the honeymoon drive down to italy next year i'm thinking it's a bit more special than a boxster/cayman.

lovely inside too

Mine had some nasty 17's and I quickly ditched them for the 15's - it's amazing how much quicker it drives and corners!

This is my car, still exploring its limits (I know the wheels are horrible, looking to get black 16" lightweight Enkei's next season):

One of these:

An extra litre of capacity, twice as many valves and almost a hundred horsepower up on its little brother I'm currently tooling around in.

I guess the big V8 in the SLK means it can be mated to a lazy gearbox. I imagine I'd just stick it in D and leave it to it. How the insurance is only £150 more than a Polo GTI for the year is beyond me too confused Still... will be looking into one for next year.
