Started looking at SL55's and got side tracked, found this!

E90 M3 again. Like I have been doing for years.
I've got a 2007 335i that I need to sell, and my R53 GP which I absolutely love but I think I should sell them both and get the M3.
I'd like quite a specific spec though.
E90 LCI
DCT
EDC
HK audio at least, but preferably Individual - this is the one thing I'd compromise on.
Dark Grey or Red ideally.
There are 3 E90 M3's with DCT/EDC on Autotrader at the moment

Can just about afford it, would be tighter money-wise than I am comfortable with though.
The car above is nearby, and is the exact spec I would want.

Are (Landcruisers) really as tough as the reputation and price suggests?
Yes. I had a 100 series Amazon. 4.2 TD, 5 speed auto.
It had full leather, cruise, fancy suspension, climate control, reverse camera, and a cavernous boot.
If you wanted zombie-apocalypse-proof to the max, then an 80 series manual. But you'll get the rougher 12v heads, in a slower, less comfortable, louder car.
The 100 series Amazon is absolutely a fantastic car. I loved mine. I sold it to a good feller (who got a bargain) at £9400 for a <108k mile 2004 model.
The engines, while a 6cyl, are quite agricultural. The 24v heads make 201hp, in contrast to the 160hp for the 12v heads. The later 5sp auto box is the one to go for. Manuals are OK, but unless you're overlanding hundreds of miles away from civilisation, the auto is a far nicer proposition.
Not fast, but will cruise all day at 90mph, fully loaded, with a trailer (I picked up my mates bike from Epinal, France from the Midlands - in comfort) and it never once missed a beat.
Fantastic and highly recommended.
A bit juicy if you only do short journeys (think 18-20mpg) and on a run could reach 28-30mpg if you're feathering the throttle, with no traffic, on a long uninterrupted run.
If you need to repair them, genuine parts are a bit pricey. However, if you're handy with regards to twirling spanners, they are very basic and simple to work on.
Again, if you want something big, comfy and reliable which gives you a feeling of imperiousness and indestructibility, this is the car for you!

My RX8 passed the MOT yesterday.
Just as I was thinking of opening and polishing the ports (I've not done it to a six port Renesis before so it would be a new experience for me) I get offered a car I have been obsessed with since I was little.
A white Volvo 480 Turbo.
So guys. Help.
A car I really like and want to sink my teeth into or a car that has stamped itself on to my consciousness?
Volvo 480 Turbo
For - Classic insurance, cheaper tax, rare, cool (subjective), fun, turbo engine to play with.
Against - Never meet your hero's factor, parts will be a pain in the faff, rare so if I modify it I'll wake up next to a moose's head.
RX8
For - Rear wheel drive, great engine, cheap plentiful parts (due to the number being broken), fun, kind of a boys club (people who know rotary's will know what I mean).
Against - Economy, Tax, loads of modern crap that if it goes wrong I'm not qualified to deal with myself, eighteen inch wheels that are starting to get porous.
What do you think?
As a diehard rotard I'd almost always come down on the doritos on a stick option. But that Volvo is ridiculously cool, especially on Borbets Just as I was thinking of opening and polishing the ports (I've not done it to a six port Renesis before so it would be a new experience for me) I get offered a car I have been obsessed with since I was little.

Mind you, stock RX-8 alloys are preposterously st, have an appalling offset fail and are best use as pot plant stands. Get some decent JDM y0 mad tyte rimmage on there, then decide

I don't think I'd go for the Amazon simply because I'd eventually need to park the thing. I was looking more at these http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2017...
We had one as a hire car in Iceland for a week and I totally fell in love with the thing!
