Depends what XKR you buy.

Even the basic version, without suspension packs etc, is not "wafty" they are an aluminium bodied car that feels nimble. Go up the ranks and they will be scalpel sharp.

Idly daydreaming about 90s Maseratis today, Shamal or Ghibli... probably money pits and I'm reasonably sure I'd never actually buy one even if I had the unlikely opportunity, but they are just cool.

I've been obsessing about selling 2 of my vehicles. One I have agreed a sale on - just awaiting the folding stuff. The other I'm contemplating how best to go about selling the thing.

Reason for selling is that I want to buy something else (or maybe 2 something elses!) and I already have too many vehicles, not enough parking spots!

Problem is, are there really any 4 seat convertibles that are fun to drive and roomy?

They're all based off of large cars so either have loads of room and/or need huge strengthening for the scuttle shake meaning they're heavy and not much fun to drive
Not sure.

The 911s look interesting (though even in the last 6 months prices seem to be going daft), but until I put my eldest in a seat in the back of one, with the front seat in ‘wife’ setting, it’s hard to gauge it all.

I’d have probably gone for a V8 M3 but then I saw the boot with the big metal roof folded inside it.

RS4 convertible might be worth a look but I’m hesitant as I’ve never really enjoyed driving any ‘normal’ Audi.

I don't think I've ever heard anything positive said about the Audi 3 and 4 derived convertibles. Have seen them on the 'worst car lists' though

Merc S class convertible?

S63 AMG cab can be had for under £50k now I believe. Soft top and fking enormous so that means a usable boot and space for 4 in absolute comfort. Should fit the bill.

A bit beyond my budget hehe

I could stomach £20,000-£25,000 on something unlikely to depreciate too much if doing low mileage and keeping nice.

I recently got very excited about a Peerless GT and before that, a Brough.

The latter would be a nightmare to keep running, but I quite fancy a Peerless at some point.

I currently have this as my wallpaper at work so I spend all day longing for a 997 to modify into something like this

M140i.

Really want one.

Preferrably a manual, and one where someone has already sorted out the diff and suspension mods.

Straight 6, understated Q car looks and mini drifts on tap at sensible-ish speeds.

I do like them but I don't quite gel with them for whatever reason
I was like that until I drove a M240i for a bit. I hit a roundabout and mini drifted it. After that I didnt care it was a bit ugly, the dynamics are superb!
It's not so much the looks, I think the M140i, M240i and the M2 all look good. I just don't... feel a BMW for me. It's frustrating, people really like them and say they're very good and I want to like them but I feel like I'd own one for a few months and then realise I made a mistake. Who knows though, maybe one day

This week's automotive itch, the Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint Speciale...

Probably not everyone's cup of tea, I was looking at one at the NEC show a few years ago and an old chap standing next to me said to his wife ''it's just plain ugly'', I thought it was a work of art.

I seem set to inherit my Dad's old E-Class, like the one above, following his recent passing. I'm looking forward to long cruises remembering the laughs we had together outside and inside that car, and the joy in Dad's face the day I found it and we went to see it together.

One of the best car designs of recent years. Fords used to be good looking car’s generally.
Now I can’t really think what their range consists of or looks like.

And to think they used to make cars with lines like this…
