The reason not to is the S6 Avant, which is just superb. Get one of those instead!

Drive one first. Michael J Fox shakes less.

I’m back on the Maserati MC20. It’s actually a good thing it is completely unaffordable as if it was remotely in reach I think I’d have done something stupid by now. Just look at it…

That is indeed fantastic.

I find audis so boring in black, grey etc - but that looks amazing.

The spend in the last 8,000 miles sounds very hefty too.

It does, the owner seems like a very genuine enthusiast if you watch the YouTube walk round

E61 530I's.

Put a deposit on a mint 57 plate, with just 60,000 miles.

Hopefully head to collect it when time permits next weekend!

Since looking about 3 weeks ago I cannot shake googling every single thing about them, watching old videos, checking on maintenance costs, checking DIY's. Horror stories, the shebang!

Used to think some 10 years ago the old 5 series was a little bit of a munter, but times change and I love them.

I'd rather have an Emira. Not that I've driven an Emira.

Stop suggesting cars I can afford and like, but should not buy!

That's magnificent!

Although, it would mean adding a variety of wood care products to my car-cleaning supplies...

It is a tricky choice. They both look beautiful, and have nice, but not spectacular interiors. The Emira will no doubt handle brilliantly, the Maserati has supercar doors (which admittedly you can’t open in a car park, but then I won’t be leaving it in a car park). Both will be blisteringly quick and tremendous fun, I’ve no doubt.

But this isn’t really a rational decision, and I just can’t feel excited about the Lotus, whereas the Maserati makes me feel 10 years old again, with my nose pressed on the showroom window gawping at…
a M A S E R A T I.
