I appreciate where that Mk1 Golf is going, trying to resemble a Berg Cup racer, but that front addition is awful IMO. I'm not going to call it a splitter or a spoiler, but it sure does spoil the look of the car, be it effective in practice or not. Aside from that, the rest of the car doesn't look too bad.

My take on that spoiler is that if the car is used in competition and wins stuff then it's good.Otherwise it's a snowplough.
